I found this video by Alfonzo Rachel on PJTV.
http://www.pjtv.com/?cmd=mpg&mpid=84&loa...

The title of the video is "Rewriting Black History Month". The description below the video is as follows:
Zo rewrites black history on this episode. AlfonZo takes serious issue with black history month and is not afraid to say why. For example, why is it that you never hear about black Republicans? Zo thinks it is time to wrest control of the educational system from the Democratic party and set history free. Find out more.

Zo is an African American who happens to be a conservative and a Republican. A lot of people would say that Zo isn't a "REAL" black man if he is a conservative and a republican. Rather like Harry Reid's (in)famous remark about hispanics in a similar vein.

I learned a lot from the short (7 minute) video. I think anyone who follows the link will, too.

If the Dems have control of black history months, it's because the GOP forfeited it in the interest of political expediency.

What's ironic is that in the 19th century following emancipation, the only black members of Congress were Republicans (21 total). In the 20th century and up to the present, there have been 101 black members of Congress and all but 5 are or were Democrats. You got two now so many there's an opportunity to reclaim the Lincoln mantle so to speak.

BTW, in the US Senate, there has been but one black GOP Senator since 1882 and his term ended in 1979. As for State Governors, not one black GOP governor since one was appointed by succession for 35 days back in 1872.
