Barack Obama has lost the War On FOX News in dramatic fashion.
Even after being roundly criticized from all corners and mocked by the likes of Jay Leno (see first extra link), the Obama White House just could not let go of its fool's errand against the FOX News Channel.
In a culmination of its poor choices on the matter, the White House today embarrassingly attempted to disinvite FOX News from the press pool interview session with Pay Czar Kenneth Feinberg.
Courageously and appropriately for a free democracy, the rest of the media organizations were having none of it. Either FOX News would be included, they let the White House know, or else there would be no interviews.
There are a nearly-innumerable amount of problems with what is generally considered the "mainstream media."
For today, however, we applaud the actions of ABC, CNN, NBC and CBS.
If Barack Obama wishes to emulate Richard Nixon and enact his own Enemies List, that is his right.
It is also the right, and responsibility, of a free people and a free press not to indulge or enable such would-be tyranny when rears its ugly head.
Not long ago, Michelle Obama said that for the first time in her adult lifetime she was proud of her country.
Well for the first time in what seems like forever, I am proud of the mainstream media.
Bravo.
