Alcohol is the thief of time!
It was easy to refrain from alcohol when I was lying dying of a bleeding stomach ulcer and had to make a decision pretty fast. That was two years ago and even after a therapy I sometimes have the urge to drink one of those colourful cocktails to well advertised by the beverage industry. My will to start another life has helped mostly but must recommend support groups like AA and my family for continued self-therapy which is so important. Alcoholism cannot be measured, certainly not by those that drink too much so AA is for everybody, even those family members who care for their loved ones. Thanks!

When I look at beverage advertising I vision all the problems alcohol has caused and NOT good times promised in the sale attempt. I think of the hangovers and headaches, cancelled appointments, lost friends, bad sex and a bad liver...

24 months ago: Good luck on your recovery.

Overindulgence in any substance is bad so please remember that the alcohol was not at fault and that many good times can be had without going over board with the spirits.

24 months ago: ... that was my principle for 35 years and that LEVEL of not going overboard rose so high that I needed 3 bottles of wine or a pint of spirits to START having a good time. Now after 2 years of zero alcohol intake, not even in food, I party very little and get so drunk on medication mixed with Coca-Cola and Red-Bull :-)
