He started out heave ho then he stepped back I think he is still stuck on stepped back so you are really have to take a look and see what is really taking root the presidents re-election campaign hopes to re-assemble coalition whites and women are a re-election problem for president Barrack Obama younger voters and liberals too,but to a lesser extent this is a poll that was recently done all are important democratic constituencies that helped him win the white house in 2008 and whose support he'll need to keep it next year. An analysis of associated press-gfl polls including the latest survey released last week shows that obama has lost ground among all those groups since he took office that really has a tendency to open our eyes to what's going on the review points to his vulnerabilities and probable leading reports and it targets his campaign as he seeks to assemble a coalition diverse enough to help him win re-election in tough economic times in his victory over Arizona seen john McCain Obama cobbled together a base of support from across the political spectrum by wooing democratic loyalists as well as independents and first -time voters .This time Obamas team is working to build voter outreach organizations and reconnect with supporters in hopes of expanding his pool of voters it will not be a easy task the nations high unemployment rate is weighing on Obama dragging down his marks for handling the economy the economy his over all standing has slid too after a difficult summer marked by contentious negotiations with congress. The poll shows that 46 percent now approve of how hes doing his job down from 52 percent in June.

Bill Clinton's numbers at the start of 1995 were similar to Obama's today. Clinton had 47 percent approval, 45 percent disapproval. In 1996, he was easily reelected.

In contrast, George H.W. Bush had a robust 59 percent approval rating in early 1991 only to lose reelection the next year.

What Obama has been doing wrong is that there was an expectation that Obama would work for the people, but he has ended up parroting the talking points of the extreme right wing and in all of his negotiations, he has started with a bargaining position that he hoped would attract Republican votes.

The problem is, that there is no way he could attract Republican votes even if he proposed Republican proposals. In fact his health care proposal and many of his other ideas were republican in origin. http://scienceblogs.com/dispatches/2010/...

People thought Obama would fight for them and he isn't. He is caving in to the right wing radicals every time.

The disapproval numbers include many Democrats who are dissapointed. Obama can gain them back by growing a spine and helping the people who most need help. There isn't a snow balls chance of getting any support from any on the right but 67% of the people want Social Security and Medicare defended and the same percentage think taxes should be raised on the rich and the wars should be ended and the military should receive huge budget cuts.

If Obama can become a populist, fight for the people, and do what the vast majority of people wants, he can win them back, because the Republicans are only wanting to help the richest 5% and are trying to eliminate SS & Medicare, increase military spending and are destroying the rest of the country.

Yep. And he's sold out. He's sold out the family to the abortion lobby, he's sold out marriage to to the aberrant, he's sold out the common working people to the banks, and he's sold out God to the Liberal agenda.
You nailed that.

"If Obama can become a populist, fight for the people, and do what the vast majority of people wants, he can win them back"

The vast majority of people want smaller government, equal pay for equal work, honesty in government, separation of Church from State but not government from God, lower taxes, less government spending, protection of benefits, better adherence to existing gov regulations not more of them, better and more reliable public services.

Yep. And he is moving us in the opposite direction of that and that is not right or Right Wing. It's just wrong.

He's a politicians and politicians cannot be trusted. New Flash: The "Messiah" is not coming from the Left or the Right.

They want the banks controlled, and they want the corporations like the fossil fuel industry not spilling oil everywhere and not killing people in collapsing coal mines.

They do want equal pay for equal work, and a livable wage, which is the goal of most unions. They hate the super rich who make millions in a day by just hiring other people to do their work for them. The majority of people see the damage that religion in government has made and they want protection from religious zealots that want to set up a Christian Sharia law here.

It is the Republicans and the right that is taking away all of the freedoms and rights from 95% of the people and raising their costs of living which is just another form of back door taxes while all of the benefits are going to the richest 5%.

It is the right that are doing the opposite of what all of the economic experts, environmental scientists, and what all of the other developed nations of the world have found to be most successful in solving our problems.

As a matter of fact the further the people of this country get away from believing what the founders of this nation believed, that we are created and must ultimately answer to our Creator, the worse things gets.

America is not now, nor has it ever been a Christian nation. However the folks that founded this country had enough insight, intelligence and common sense to acknowledge God and not kick Him out of the government. No doubt, they would be appalled at the state of where things are now.

Divine providence was a reality in the minds of those who had the original vision for this country. The Founders acknowledged that every human being is endowed with inalienable rights of divine origin that the government is supposed to protect, not deny.

We can fuss over the details but the reality of God was self-evident to them.

Sad but true that in this day and age many have turned their back on their Creator. Even denying the existence thereof.

Moral relativism and secular humanism are what's running the show now. Those are the "religions" that have done more to damage this country than anything else. It's no real mystery as to why we have what we have.

The Left has left God out and the Right has sold Him out.
