This is my first rant, twit or for that matter the only way I have tried socially connecting to anyone that is not in front of my face.
I am going to make this one short and likely be the only one like that.
With all the push from the public about this horrible health plan that has been served to us, you think someone would ask, and I will, these guys are voted in by us to represent our want needs and wishes. Why don't they take no as the answer and go back to the table, rather than trying to convince us it is something its not.
THE ANSWER IS NO we don't want it not now.
They work for and are paid by us. Its time that the employer put on there big boy pants and demand better or we'll hire someone new. Thank god for mid terms

30 months ago: 1. Vast majority, uh-uh

2. Everyone will pay more in taxes.

3. Conservative alarmist are screaming because the government is attempting to hijack 1/7th of our economy.

4. This *type* of proposal is key. "A" republican.

5. Better measures could be written, without the probability of all healthcare eventually falling under direct government supervision.

30 months ago: In June 20th, 85% of the people said they were convinced health care needed fundamental change and that they were willing to pay higher taxes to pay for it. That is a political mandate to pursue health care reform and at that time only 20% was opposed.
Since then the disinformation campaign and the fear mongering of of the Republicans may have turned a lot of people against what they think is the Obama plan, but there is no Obama plan! There is no big socialist plot to take over the government! There are only a few congressional rough drafts. I think that 85% of the people still want health care reform, but they have bought into the negative propaganda about a fictional Obamacare.
Lets see what the final plans look like before we condemn them. I suspect most people really do want cheaper health care and do actually care, and they don't like the fact that Insurance companies are telling doctors what they can and can't do, and denying coverage to people who have been paying premiums in good faith. I think most people really do care about the uninsured and don't think that they deserve to get sick and die because they intentionally chose to be poor.

The longer we let the politicians work on trying to perfect a plan, the more all of the special interests will add special provisions that benefit them. That is how the bills get so large and complicated. If the opposition is determined to kill the bill no matter what they will add hundreds of amendments gutting the original bill. If they would sit down and actually try to solve the problem, they could get a decent bill, but they refuse. Obama has been bending over backwards to accommodate the Republicans, but they say ditch the public plan or we won't vote for it. Then if he ditches the public plan they say they still won't vote for it. Now the truth comes out. They will oppose everything no matter how much the plan is gutted. May as well go back to single payer.
I agree with you that we need a new centrist party. This partisan gridlock is just not working. Lets go to preferential voting and bring back cooperation instead of opposition.

If the AAHCA is enacted in it's present form, it will definitely lead to a single payer health care system, in which the government will decide who pays what, and what the health care providers get paid. This is alarming.
As to the taxing of the top 2%, they already pay more than 60% of all tax revenue in the country. But we aren't talking about the top 2%. Obama says anyone making over $250,000 will see a significant tax increase under his plan.
What the middle class liberals want is a free ride, with no financial responsibility for their own needs. That is the only way to explain the constant claims that "It will be o.k., don't worry, the rich people are going to pay for it."
When cap and trade kicks in, you will see an increase in prices across the board, when inflation kicks in, you will see an increase in prices across the board, and when health care kicks in, you will see an increase in prices across the board, because employers are going to charge more for products to defray their additional insurance costs.
While this may not be a direct tax on us personally by the government, the laws of trickle down economics work the same for tax increases and they do for tax cuts. What is good for those at the top is good for us, and what is bad for those at the top, is bad for us.
What Obama says about insurance getting cheaper under his plan is pure conjecture, and our economy, in its current condition, can not withstand any more assault.
30 months ago: SS and OOTB all good points. I guess the biggest thing is that at the end of the day I will be paying for something that I use very little if at all in the first 15 years of my adult life. and that is the difference, now If i dont want it I dont pay. the current plan says I dont have a choice and that is were my fear comes in, being told that I have to.
Unfortunalty there are more people in this world that benefit from wellfare than dont. this is were the drastic change in public opinion comes. in america that 1% extra counts. just 10 years ago there were less than 50% that benefitted and were taking advantage of the system. not true now to many people have to much to lose to fight back. there are willing to take the crap that comes as long as they get there free money and programs.
this is what is so scary and were all the fear mongering fits in and in my opinion valid. when a society is so dependant on there government for survival that there willing to give up the rest of there freedoms and liberties.

Benjamin Franklin: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."
30 months ago: scot it has been fifty years, ted kennedy ran on this platform when he ran for senator and that was how many years ago and before him elenor roosevelt lobbied for universal health care during the depression seem the dems cant get the timing right they always want to spend more when we have less
30 months ago: I was thinking its wierd the same government thats owes us huge in the coming years for social security is now proposing a health care plan that would effectivly lower the number of recipeints of social security, by lowering the life expectancy of the only age group to take out of this system, seniors, if they live a shorter life they cant take out

30 months ago: scotmanster I agree the big problemn is uneployment. and the reason that all the manufacturing is overseas is cause the companies in america cant afford enough employees to run a shop because of the overwhelming union pressure for more more more. So the product suffers from lack of qulity because cuts were made to handle the balloning cost of labor because the unions protect the lazy, need a 15 min break every hour union guy. not to mention now the company has to hire another employee to cover all the breaks.
hey ship them over to china and pay half for twice the product and no unions to boot. if the dems would pull there mouths off from the unions **** then american companies can start making money off american made products made by an american worker. the american people have been tempered to think big business is bad, well i think that big business has done what it has to do to stay in business and is a reaction because of the unions pressure. china the workers are thankful for a job and take pride in it, they also know that if they mess up than it makes the rest look bad. there motto is they look bad together and they look good together. We need alittle of that attitude here
