Yahoo has announced they will no longer offer Geocities, a free website service they acquired for 4 billion dollars about 10 years ago. Another sign of the times, a once thriving dotcom boom is now being hit hard by the ailing economy. They will still be offering a hosting service that costs $114 per year, but will be phasing out their free website division. Yahoo is urging users to upgrade to avoid losing their site.
