"People who are older than 12... don't have friends come over to play games anymore."
This IGNorant post is the perfect example of why Nintendo has created Wii instead of going the route of the other systems. They wanted to bring back the JOY of GAMING!
I remember when I was younger and I invited friends over to play games with me, or I was invited over. Those times were usually a BLAST! Nowadays, with technology the way it is, people rarely see each other in person and have some HUMAN INTERACTIVITY. That is why people are the way they are nowadays. Human Social Interaction makes for a better world. It strengthens friendships and creates bonds. People today are so Cold towards others that it makes me happy to watch people Play the Wii together. Heck, even games that are on all consoles like Guitar Hero and Rock Band have started doing that, but, they also have an Online mode that kills the fun...
I, for one, Love my friends and I enjoy their company. Though with life getting in the way, there have been fewer and fewer opportunities to do so. New Super Mario Brothers Wii and the Wii In general have given us at least ONE reason to get together that doesn't care what you do in life. People that are friends but have little in common can still enjoy a good butt kicking in a video game over a beer or soda. Maybe even a nice Barbecue.
I hope the gaming industry learns that Making an "Interactive Movie Experience" is NOT A GAME! It feels like a chore more and more. Games should just be Wacky fun and not some "Intense action game that feels JUST LIKE A MOVIE". To get that, we could... JUST WATCH A MOVIE! An Interactive Movie can never replace a few rounds of Super Smash Brothers or a nice Adventure through the Mushroom Kingdom where you can MAKE YOUR YOSHI EAT YOUR FRIEND!!! or THROW THEM INTO A HOLE OR LAVA PIT! That's just awesome. HD can never top Classic gaming.
All in all, I guess what I'm saying is, the Wii is about People and Bringing people together to play. Wii, like WE; are all together in this crazy world, And We would like to play.
