So I have recently purchased a Blackberry Storm with my boyfriend on the ‘Buy one Blackberry get one free of equal or lesser value’ bit. I personally am a bit let down with the Storms many technical problems. For example:
The storm shuts off constantly by itself, it happens to mine around 3 times a day that I am aware of.
The screen either goes black or “snow” and once again turns itself off, usually this happens in the middle of sending an email.
Apps like the navigator make the phone freeze every single time I try to use it.
The screen does not lock when in a phone call so if I hold the phone to my cheek it almost always hits mute or flash. * There is an Application called Talk Lock that locks calls a few seconds into the conversation that you can download to your Blackberry.
The battery on my boyfriends phone is always drained even though its off while he is at work and has hardly used the storm that morning.
I cannot answer phone calls half the time because the lag from the rotating screen has to catch up before I can accept that call.
The phone freezes for no apparent reason at times, making it impossible to use the screen.
But don’t get me wrong, the Blackberry Storm is still pretty neat in my opinion, I love the Google Maps app, as well as the Application center. Plus the internet works like a dream, the best internet on a phone I have used, fast and efficient.
I am hoping that the technical problems on the Storm can be worked out. I like the idea and design the Blackberry Storm presents, more so than Sprints Instinct or T-Mobile’s Sidekick, I just don’t like the fact that I’m paying a high bill for slow fixes.
