Where are we REALLY headed here?

After reading and re-reading the owner's statement on the new direction I am confused it was stated and I quote: "We will also try to keep junk posts off of the site. Some examples of "junk" are recipes and AP-style news releases that are exclusively statements of fact and completely lack any opinion."

So the new direction we are headed is for original ideas and opinions. I take that as meaning:

A) No more useless recipes.
B) Articles that require thought and original ideas.

Yet this morning we are graced with an article about "Potholes". How does this fit into the new Rantrave direction?

I sincerely hope that Rantrave thrives and we can have some discussions that require thought and intelligence. I fail to see how a deep conversation on Potholes fits this profile.

15 months ago: Not to mention that you decided to write another whole post to decry the pothole post. Couldn't just post this comment on the post you have problems with? Not getting enough attention?

I personally feel that many of the "commentators" here are simply trying to stir up as much drama as possible in every situation that comes up.

15 months ago: If you guys find a subject such as "potholes" interesting so be it. Enjoy. :)
15 months ago: Maybe the States can hire some 99ers to help fill them with tar?

15 months ago: Let me offer some clarification and insight here. All articles are reviewed for Google News per the editorial review process as outlined here:

http://rantrave.com/editorial-reviews.as...

Articles that don't pass the review process are rejected for Google News but not deleted unless they are in violation of our posting policies (e.g. spam, porn, etc.) For example, this article you posted here I rejected from Google News since it's an internal comment to Rant Rave.

Other articles might be rejected because they have poor grammar, low quality, etc. Admittedly, there's some subjectivity in the process. For example, I rejected the pothole article because while it's good information that's fine for Rant Rave, I don't believe it merited being in Google News.
