Okay, seriously, has anyone noticed that video games have kinda gotten stale? I'm sick of seeing rehashed video games from like, the 1980s. Like Zelda, the originals were friggin awesome! Now? Twilight Princess was annoying, the battle system was actually cool, the story was, well... Bad... I get the whole save the realms, but yet again, you have to save Zelda... Are you freaking kidding me! We've done that for the last decade! We've gone through being tiny little creatures, fought through the ocean, battled Ganandorf, saved the world from the moon, and lost some of our closest allies to sage-ism! I know that doesn't cover them all, but oh well.
We also have too many Mario games. Yes they have died down in recent years, but seriously, Mario has done almost everything. He went from a turtle kicking plumber, to an anime star, to a kart racer, to a island clean-up man, and now is a midget flying around in space.
Next, originality in games. We have storylines that have been brought back repeatedly. We got the whole "zombie outbreak" motif that has been brought back so much, that there soon will be just one zombie, with the power of friggin mind control, and you have to charge through a limitless supply of stupid henchmen to get to that one. single. zombie! Another over-used genre, "Save the princess/world/universe." How many times is this gonna be used before people realize how old and tiring this is? Not going in to the idiocy of games anymore -.-
