...we just can't find a postal office

Okay, we've all heard UPS's new slogan, heck it's even on their website; "WE Love Logistics." Now consider the following. UPS offers an economy ground service which is designed to save them money as well as save their customers a few bucks on shipping. The economy ground service doesn't deliver your package straight to your door-step, but rather to your local USPS postal office. From there the postal office delivers your package with the regular mail.

Here's a link with more information: http://www.logisticsmgmt.com/article/ups...

Now in this economy I'm trying to spend as little money as I can so when I placed an online order and saw the economy ground method at a low price I figured it sounded great. Well I waited a week for my package to arrive and one day before the scheduled delivery date I get a notice from UPS saying that there was a problem with the delivery of my package. The reason for the problem, according to UPS, was that the postal office had moved. Now I don't know which postal office location they were trying to deliver the package to but upon searching for postal office locations in my area I found at least 10 within a 5 mile radius of my zip code. So regardless of whether the particular one they were trying to deliver to had moved you'd think with their "Love of Logistics" they would have been able to find and coordinate with one of the many others in my area including the major one that has been at the same address for decades! However, instead they decided the package was undeliverable and to return it to the sender.

As a result my only option was to wait for the sender to receive their package which would have taken several more days, then have them resend it back to me using the regular ground service so that it would come straight to my house instead of to the postal office, of course costing me more in shipping. And then I'd have to wait another 3-5 days (not including weekends) to receive it. All because UPS is lazy and unorganized.

Even worse upon contacting UPS customer service about this I got to talk to a customer service rep who didn't really care about my experience and just gave me the run around.

In the end I just had to cancel my order all together so I waited a whole week for nothing but frustration and disappointment.
