7 months ago: Most of the world's religions are pretty weird (with the possible exception of Buddhism) so yes religious affiliations (or lack thereof) should be off the table.

When people criticize others because of their religion, I think they should be held accountable for their intolerance. Those who cater to the Tea Party are trying to tap into their fear and hatred of others.

We don't need a leader that further divides the nation.

7 months ago: Most of the world's people are pretty weird, especially from someone else's point of view. Altruist, are you suggesting that Mitt Romney's religious beliefs would "divide the nation", or his unwillingness to reject the Tea Party?

I will guess from your comment that "religious affiliations should be off the table," that your concern is the latter.

As they say, Politics make strange bedfellows. To get elected, and make a difference, Mitt Romney cannot reject a portion of his own party. He may not agree with everything the Tea Partiers say, but I think he is wise to find shared values with everyone he can to garner enough votes to get hired.
