Someone, please remind me again how the military were the bad guys in Seven Days in May?

25 months ago: US military leaders plot to stage a coup d'etat to overthrow the President because he doesn't support the military industrial complex, and they fear they might not have a high paying contractor job after they retire from the military.

Well not exactly but close enough.
