For brevity the church of scientology, all subsidiaries and related corporate entities will be referred to as the organisation and those who subscribe to or work for the organisation will be referred to collectively as members.

This also distinguishes the organisation and its members from those who believe themselves scientologists but are independent of the organisation.

The Library Campaign:
=====================

Outward Purpose -

to raise money to put a copy of the basic books and CDs in to libraries around the world.

Method -

1. break down world in to areas by country or continent.
2. Assign a target number of libraries to receive Basic books and CD sets.
3. Publicise the objective to members, explain why this objective is important to saving the planet, emphasis targets must be met and imply what will happen if this doesn't.
4. solicit donations based on the retail price of the basic books and cd sets (as set by the organisation).
5. Dispatch books as donations collected, keep stats and disregard returns.
6. Pocket the difference between the retail price of the books and CDs and the actual cost to the organisation of production, packaging and shipping. Don't tell anyone.
7. Profit.

Result -

Libraries around the world receive unsolicited donations of basic books and CD sets. Some return them to sender, others store them or pulp them. A very tiny minority catalogue and display them. The organisation pockets a massive amount of profit which is conveniently soaked away in to subsidiaries and front companies. They also save on returned book sets.

Ideal Org donation drives.
==========================

Outward purpose -

to build ideal org buildings to accommodate the scientologists in the area and facilitate the spreading of the tech.

Method -

1. Find a large run down building, preferably with large land area that is a potentially good investment.
2. Purchase the building using a front company.
3. (Optional) sub-divide the land and sell off for profit, ensure the building goes to another front company for the organisation.
4. Announce intent to purchase building in the area and publicise the need to collect donations from members in the area to cover the cost of the (for profit) purchase.
5. Badger members to cough up for the building, emphasis importance to the cause of clearing the planet, planetary salvation.
6. Announce a target date for the purchase of the building that is unlikely to be met by local donations.
7. Save the day at the last minute by making up the donations towards the purchase. Announce formal purchase to members and public that the target has been met.
8. Start charging rent and suggesting members should start renovations.

Result -

Possible initial profit by sub-division of land and buildings (documented case in Birmingham UK - Pitmarston - showed a £0.77 million profit on the same day went to the first organisation front company; a building investment firm whose directors are known scientologists. Donations from members cover much of purchase cost and on going rent provides an income exceeding normal interest on the investment. (Ideal) Long term the building is renovated cheaply by the members and starts running commercial courses for the organisations' profit. (Option 2) Members rent building providing an income, members may afford some repairs building remains largely unused.

International Association of Scientologists
===========================================

Outward purpose -

Dissemination of the tech to the world, fighting the psychs with the aim of global annihalation.

Method -

1. Announce formation of IAS and its stated purposes
2. Obtain memberships with subscriptions to build a mail list.
3. Identify specific campaigns, give them rousing titles.
4. Identify organisation materials that the campaign will require, books, kits, tents, people etc.
5. Formulate donation targets based on retail costs of materials. Decide a target date by when the operation MUST start.
6. Collect donations from members towards target amount by target date, feedback how well members are doing and emphasis need to do better to reach target.
7. Ensure target is met by target date.

Result -

Organisation collects donations from members and produces materials, soaking up the difference between the real cost of the materials and the retail cost in to the organisation. Targets are always met because last minute donations make up any perceived difference; fortunately the amount collect is rarely less than the actual cost to the organisation. Materials are distributed as best as possible on a commercial basis. Ideal result - Initial set ups are funded by members for training programmes which are provided on a commercial basis to the intended target with profit going to the organisation. Option 2 - funds are collect, profit is made, some activity occurs but in reality nothing really happens and it is on to the next campaign. Option 3. The money is used to pay OUT OF COURT settlements with people or organisations that the organisation has attacked thus ensuring a loss is not recorded in court.

The Super Power Building
========================

Outward purpose - build a super power building in which to deliver super power to scientologists.

Method -

1. Identify a building that could be expansion space for Flag.
2. Call it the site of the "Super Power" building.
3. Announce to members the intention to construct a "Super Power" building and explain this is the only place where super powers will be delivered to scientologists.
4. Collect donations.
5. Keep collecting donations.
6. Keep collecting donations.
7. Never finish building instead go back to 4.

Result -

The super power building remains imminently close to completion, it just needs more donations. The true power of the super power building is its power to collect donations for the organisation.

Planetary Dissemination Plan
============================

Outward purpose - to disseminate LRH tech to the planet

1. Announce intention to members to disseminate the tech to the planet so the planet can be cleared and planetary salvation can occur.
2. Collect donations from members
3. Collect more donations from members
4. Tell members how well it is going, Tom Cruise alone has delivered LRH tech to 250,000,000+ people alone. 1 billion people have been invited to join us on the bridge.
5. Ignore fact 99.9% of people invited refuse with varying degrees of politeness.
6. Got to keep it up so go back to 2.

Result -

An on going stream of money comes in to the organisation. Some goes in to making flashy videos for DM to present through out the year to members that contain statements of meaningless facts (such as number of people invited, number of books "placed in people's hands", current floor space of scientology buildings world wide etc. but no actual figures like number of lives saved at specific event or number of contributing members at specific orgs.

Way to Happiness Campaign
=========================

Outward purpose -

To distribute a pamphlet called the Way to Happiness to troubled places on the planet where it will act like a calming oil on troubled waters.

Method -

1. Mass produce the pamphlet
2. Announce a need to collect donations to distribute more pamphlets
3. Collect donations based on retail price of pamphlet
4. Distribute pamphlet to troubled areas around the world.
5. Track number of pamphlets given out. Ignore fact most are disposed of or otherwise go unread. Track what happens in those areas, ensure PR is in tow when pamphlets given out.
6. Feed back to members numbers of pamphlets distributed, forget to mention number of pamphlets littering the streets. Any areas where troubles were acute, i.e. localised rioting that stopped after a few hours or days, should be announced as signs of true success of pamphlets (had they not been there rioting would have continued and spread globally).
7. More troubled areas exist to see more pamphlets distributed. Go back to 2.

Result -

on going stream of money comes in with difference between retail price and actual costs of production and distribution soaked up by the organisation.

Volunteer Ministers
===================

Outward Purpose -

to help where ever there is a disaster by introducing people to and using LRH tech.

Method -

1. Introduce concept of Volunteer minister to members, explain that members can train to become one, at their own expense, and receive a volunteer minister kit and that by being one they will be making a greater contribution to planetary salvage.
2. Collect donations to provide kits and materials to volunteer ministers, often from VMs themselves
3. Train VMs - ensure they know the importance of good PR
4. when disaster occurs dispatch VMs, at their own expense to said sites. Tell them to watch out for "psychs"
5. There are always disasters and you always need more VMs to keep

Result -

VMs turn up at disaster zones around the world armed with nothing more than a yellow tent and lots of LRH tech materials. Some believe they are helping by providing extra bodies to the support the aid effort but as they bought none of their own food, shelter or water they require local resources, which can be in short supply. VMs also believe they are really helping by explaining to disaster victims all about LRH tech and how it will change their lives for the better (could it get much worse than loosing everything?). They also believe they are helping by warning disaster victims to be wary of "psychs" looking to drug them (as they did at the boxing day tsunami) or blocking "psychs" from providing aid, as they did at 9/11.

In reality the VMs have a nick name Vulture Ministers because the practice of recruiting people at disaster zones is seen as praying at people at their most vulnerable. They are also seen as a burden to the effort that gets in the way, ones who often ignore calls for people to stay away and let the real disaster aid workers do their jobs.

The organisation however manages to get lots of good PR pictures and sound bites as each VM team should have a PR hatted person with them. The PR is used internally to help fuel more donation drives for VMs. The organisation also soaks up the difference between the real costs of the materials sold to the VMs and the retail price.

To sum up the church of scientology, the organisation works like this.

1. Announce something great
2. Collect donations from members
3. ????
4. Profit

34 months ago: scientology forces its members to donate money for buildings that for the most part remain EMPTY.

scientology - the Amway of "religions".

34 months ago: Hi Xenuluvr, sadly there will always be members who are too far gone to realise they're donating their lives to someone else for no real gain. Happily this will only be a minority of members. We do the best we can to inform people of what we see happening and we're seeing results.

Many people don't join because they are forewarned and the constant protests are beginning to reawaken critical thinking in many members too; they start asking themselves WHY there are so many protestors. Many of the recent ex members have turned up on protest or ex-scientology web sites.

There are always going to be people locked in to "The cause" unfortunately and sadly those people will die without doing anything for themselves.

Regarding the few celebrities and wealthy donors in Scientology, there's is a different experience. Some are pretty much in on the scam; they've adapted to make the organisation work for them - David Gaimen was such a person but he died. For others it's like a hobby or an indulgence, we hope to sour this for them, because they get such red carpet treatment - although if they thought about it they kinda pay for it anyway in donation. I think there is more reticence. Many of those kinda in on it are having a tough time economically anyhow and as for the celebrities, well being accused of being a member of the organisation is considered a bit of an insult in Hollywood these days - but hey Will Smith, go figure?

34 months ago: Excellent analysis of Scientology kept working.
However something in the tech & policies that Hubbard devised do keep converts attracted to Scientology otherwise it would not keep working.
Alot of the knowledge devised by Hubbard despite maybe being copied or reinvented from other sources assisted me in my life.
I do no longer like though how Scientology is kept working.
It becomes tedious repetition of a same theme with money always being the bottom line.
Scientology in a way is like communism everything belongs to the state or to Scientology including all the buildings converts donate toward making these supposed ideal orgs.
The converts belong to Scientology as how they must agree with everything that Hubbard spoke & wrote.
The converts are totally possessed by Scientology.
32 months ago: A funny, made-up story. Nothing to do with Scientology, however. Scientology is the path to total freedom.
