"Winter Soldier: Iraq and Afghanistan featured testimony from U.S. veterans who served in those occupations, giving an accurate account of what is really happening day in and day out, on the ground."

"Although Winter Soldier was held just outside the nation's capital, it was almost entirely ignored by the American corporate media. A search on the Lexis database found that no major television network or cable news network even mentioned Winter Soldier over the weekend, neither did the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times or most other major newspapers in the country. The editors of the Washington Post chose to cover Winter Soldier but placed the article in the local section."

Why did the Winter Soldier conference have a media black-out? Were these Winter Soldiers not patriots? Is the oath one takes to protect, also keep one silent? It took more than courage to talk about what happens in war; what is expected and what is forced on new recruits into the war machine. Doubly hard is the painful recount of war crimes and atrocities personally committed and by those who were comrades. These men deserved the respect of an audience... how much will we give them?

These patriots served, sweated and bled for their patriotism. These are not politicians or protesters that haven't seen active duty. These are the survivors of not only war... but of betrayal! These live with the betrayal of their superiors who forced them by authority to kill innocents, destroy a nation... without provocation! No WMDs (Weapons of Mass Destruction) were found in Iraq, this was an assassination of not only Saddam Hussein, but his entire nation! Is it any wonder the West is called Satan?
Who can talk sense to this bloodthirsty war machine... that will have blood?
These men tried, while many died.

But do you know what is really unconscionable?
The reinventing of the "Winter Soldier" and all that they stand for... by Marvel Comics!

Marvel Comics would have one believe that Captain America's "Winter Soldier" is a warmongering machine that is beyond patriotic... in comic-book hero style he is idolized! He fights everything from "Sin" to "Sorcery" ...but it's what's coming next, I don't think anyone is ready for.... Civil War! Where WMDs may be used by Captain America in his homeland... on Americans, following "Red Scull".

"Captain America's greatest enemy, the Red Skull, has slowly been ensuring Cap's downfall and now with the start of a Civil War, it is the perfect opportunity to see his plans to fruition. The Skull will form a deadly alliance that will make the entire Marvel Universe tremble beneath their heels; but what major player will it be?"

What a spit in the face of what Winter Soldier was trying to uncover, so that future wars wouldn't endanger true patriots, and so these wouldn't have to be force by evil warmongers to perpetrate vicious destruction on innocent countries, while they are pillaged of their oil and other resources. Incredible as it seems... this disgraceful Comic production will have the real Winter Soldiers as enemies of the State...
in a ironic twist of history, as members of The "Red Scull" Rebellion?!?

The Winter Soldiers are the military Whistleblowers that let the rest of the world know what is really going on. As such Bradley Manning shouldn't be prosecuted and tortured, he should be rewarded.

The Vietnam Veterans against the War held the first Winter Soldier investigations and their good work may have shortened that war and saved lives. That investigation was also not covered by any media except Pacifica Radio.

The term Winter Soldier was derived from Thomas Paine's first American Crisis paper, written in December 1776. When future Senator John Kerry, then a decorated Lieutenant in the Naval Reserve (Inactive), later spoke before a Senate Committee, he explained,

"We who have come here to Washington have come here because we feel we have to be winter soldiers now. We could come back to this country; we could be quiet; we could hold our silence; we could not tell what went on in Vietnam, but we feel because of what threatens this country, the fact that the crimes threaten it, not reds, and not redcoats but the crimes which we are committing that threaten it, that we have to speak out."

What threatens the country is not the whistleblowers but the atrocities and the slaughter of innocents that they illuminate.
