The United States Invades Mexico

Iraq was perfect "on-the-job" training for a US invasion into Mexico; and the years of occupation in Iraq allowed conditions to fester enough, that a US military invasion of Mexico would be welcomed from either side of the border. As Mexico becomes a "War on Drugs" torn country, many will see this US invasion as their saving grace... and it seems the only way to curb cartel destruction of Mexico. With unlimited resources of the cartel gangs like Los Zetas, makes police law enforcement a poor band-aid for the open chest-wound of the cartels underworld. Also with aspirations for a North American Union, it won't be too long before we see this as a necessity and not just an option.

"Like it or Not: Mexico is America's Next Afghanistan...
With the exception of, perhaps, Texas governor Rick Perry, no public official wants to publicly admit an obvious fact: The United States of America will likely be forced to invade Mexico. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. The question then becomes: What to do with Mexico after we invade it and wipe out the drug cartels...?"
http://www.redstate.com/laborunionreport...

Whether or not we see this as the first executive order of the newest President of the United States, or the last one from the current Chief of Staff... a US invasion of Mexico is inevitable. And it is obvious why the US allowed border conditions to degrade to such a state; most people don't have the resolve to support a war that cannot be done remotely. So public outcry threatening mutiny if something isn't done, becomes the vehicle to get the overall plan supported and executed. So forgive Obama for not "securing" your southern border... there is a greater game afoot!

Am I being pessimistic? Not at all... just merely taking an objective look at the picture from a norther perspective. It is great timing calling the Iraqi troops home, just to get them recharged, refueled and reloaded to take care of business! This is a real war of Homeland Defense and patriotism... who wouldn't sign up for this action?
And the thing is those in Mexico see daily the death and wanton destruction of cartel induced anarchy... nobody need "sell" the idea of stability to them. As a byproduct America can appear to be cleaning up her own backyard for once !:]

At the end of the day... saying "Who called it" won't be much comfort.

Is the U.S. Preparing to Militarize the Streets of America or Invade Mexico?

"It may require our military in Mexico," Perry said in answer to a question about the growing threat of drug violence along the southern border. Perry offered no details, and a spokesman, Robert Black, said afterward that sending troops to Mexico would be merely one way of putting an end to the exploding cartel-related violence in the region."

My apologies the first part of the later paragraph should have read...

3 months ago: Here is(are) the fix(es): re-legalize all drugs nationwide. Reduce taxes on alcohol and remove all dry counties nationwide. Stop trying to stop what is unstopable. Educate the populace and rehab those who want it, once.

Who are we kidding except ourselves, the war on drugs has been a total failure and has resulted in thousands of needless deaths and billions of tax dollars spent on a futile attempt to control peoples lives, just like prohibition, it has just taken longer to sink in.

Be more productive to spend those dollars on catching real crooks like politicians, bankers, pro-sports cheaters, get my drift?
3 months ago: Six,

It just doesn't seem that an "end to war" is what's on their minds though... it is a blank check for anything they want or need, to take more and more, I think that is why it is called insatiable greed!
3 months ago: Once something has been started that causes a flow of $$$, those who profit from it do not want the flow to cease, be it legal, illegal, good, bad, whatever. They just want the money to keep coming, usually because they have learned how to manipulate it into either their own pockets or their pet programs. It all comes back to the cash no matter which side of the fence you are on.

As for the US invading Mexico, why bother? We would just have to start paying them more.

3 months ago: This is the problem that is created by the United States declaring war in ideals...they cannot end...When you declare war on "Drugs" or "Terror" you have no enemy...just a feeling. You cannot invade "Drugs"..."Drugs" will not surrender. We have been legislated into a perpetual state of money sucking war that will literally never end.
3 months ago: PH,

I get that we are always going to have crime... so what's next abolish law, and forget the borders and security?

3 months ago: Certainly not. What I am saying is that the obsession with "illegal" immigration is idiotic. We are all illegal immigrants if you want to go back far enough (unless we are going to ignore the invasion and genocide of the Native Americans). There is nothing to be gained by banishing the so called "illegals" back to Mexico...this country and economy would fall to pieces. They don't steal jobs, because "real Americans" don't want the jobs they have (landscaping, janitorial work, manual farm labor). It is such an astounding waste of money when instead we could have a much simpler and much faster path to citizenship that would generate tax revenue. OR we could just have a national sales tax and the millions of "illegal" immigrants would then pay federal taxes because believe it or not...they still go shopping in the stores.

3 months ago: I should also mention that if drugs were legalized the cartels would stop being such a problem because they wouldn't be profitable any more.
3 months ago: PH,

I don't buy the whole "make it legal and organised crime will cease" argument... seriously? They have amassed great wealth and power... if they don't control the smuggling of it, they will shift and control distribution and growing. Drugs won't just be free if they become legal... and what about human trafficking?? Should we make slavery legal too?? These cartels must be broken and disbanded, because it is a safety and national security issue.

3 months ago: I had to think on this one a few days. We have what is called a lose-lose situation. In order to drive the cartels out of the illegal business, we would have to make it legal. And I believe the drug-lords would be against the legalization of pot, coke, heroin etc. I also believe the war machine would be against legalization, because of the potential cash cow the illegal drug industry represents.

Back up to making it all legal, who is better equipped to set up manufacturing facilities? The drug lords that are already mass marketing the junk. So all their years of terrorism would be rewarded with respectable drug contracts with the same government that has sought to shut them down for thirty years.

Pretty much everyone in the higher echelons on both sides of the conflict would be loathe to change things. There is just too much money at stake. All we need now is for the military to get involved in a Vietnam type full on assault to round out the list of players.

As far as using this as an excuse to invade Mexico, who knows? Mexico recently tried legalizing daily usage amounts of the stuff, and the war between the cartels and the police went crazy.
3 months ago: This might help show how a stage is set to first allow guns and explosives to be found in the hands of the cartels, so that it would take the military to "restore" peace... well here is a "piece" of the puzzle...

"It is now a widely-reported fact that under the Obama administration, U.S. federal agents actively placed over 30,000 fully-functional weapons into the hands of Mexican drug gangs, then halted all surveillance and tracking activities of where those weapons were going.
This is not a conspiracy theory, nor a piece of fiction. It is now an openly-admitted fact that this was pulled off by the BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, more commonly called "ATF") under orders from Washington. The program was called "Fast and Furious."
http://www.naturalnews.com/032934_ATF_il...

"We monitored as they purchased handguns, AK-47 variants and .50 caliber rifles, almost daily at times," John Dodson, an ATF special agent in Phoenix, told the committee.
"Rather than conduct any enforcement actions, we took notes, we recorded observations, we tracked movements of these individuals, we wrote reports but nothing more."
Dodson said agents were never given reasonable answers why their activities were limited."

...doesn't this sound a lot like Oliver North using arms sales to support the Contra rebel groups in Nicaragua? Where is the money for the "Fast and Furious" sales... and who are they supporting?? This is destined to get ugly fast. CIA MO is to fund one side to instigate and all-out war... that only they can clean up! Nasty business this warmongering...
