The Unexplained

As some of you know, I’ve written a few blog articles on this site; however, this is not a blog article per se; it’s a series of perplexing incidents that I’m hoping that some of you can provide credible answers to.

The Unexplained:

1. Urgent Communication:

Often when my three children were younger, my wife and I and the three children would often take off for a weekend break from the rat race of city life. My parents were alive at the time and in good health. On one such weekend trip, a voice in my head started to tell me to call my mother. At first, I just ignored it. But the voice was persistent and finally I called my mother by telephone. As soon as she picked up the call and heard my voice, she said: Oh my God – I’m so glad that you called; Dad was involved in a serious car accident. Was this telepathy or something else?

2. A Warning:

A former business associate of mine living about 160 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina, was a frequent flyer and was just arriving at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport to catch US Airways flight 5481 to Greenville, South Carolina on January 8th, 2003. While still in his car, he received a call from his wife who told him that he had forgotten his wallet on the dining room table. Quite angry at himself, he had no choice but to return home for his wallet knowing very well that he would miss his flight and would have to delay his trip by one day. On his way back and with the radio on, a news bulletin stated that US Airways flight 5481 had crashed at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, shortly after takeoff with no survivors. Was this coincidence, fate or something else?

Déjà vu:

1. New place:

It’s only happened once; but it was mind boggling. I had made a new friend and to make a long story short, he invited me over to his house for a beer. His house was located in a suburb that I had never been to, let alone his house. Yet, when I entered his house, everything from the layout of the rooms down to his furniture and personal items such as pictures, etc. were totally familiar to me. I can’t explain it; I truly was convinced that I had seen the interior of his house before. And by the way, he had never once spoken about his house prior to having invited me. How could this have possibly happened?

2. I know what she’s going to say:

This has happened to me on more than one occasion. I’m in a room or a restaurant with a group of people; some that I know and others that I’m meeting for the first time. All of a sudden, one of the people that I don’t know is about to say something and before that person utters his/her first word, I know exactly, to the word, what that person will say. How & why does this happen?

Dream related incidents:

1. Falling:

I occasionally dream that I’m falling and awake before I actually hit the bottom. What does falling in a dream signify and why do I always awake before I hit the bottom?

2. Shifting:

Every so often, I have a dream where something pleasant is just about to happen (i.e.: sitting down to have my favorite meal) and suddenly, I shift to a completely different dream. Why does this shifting occur?

3. Can’t remember:

When I awake, I know that I had dreamt; however, in 95% of the cases, I can’t remember what I was dreaming about. Is it just me or does this happen to everyone, and if so, why can’t we remember the majority of our dreams?
