A truly wonderful thing happened some days ago. Shalit was captured by Palestinian terrorist and was held captive for five years. And now he's back home with his family. The whole of Israel celebrated his freedom. There is a slight hiccup, though - his freedom was bought by releasing 1,000+ terrorists and murdered from Israeli prisons. And that's why the whole of Palestine (especially Hamas) celebrated Shalit's release as well. They are now raving that they will keep kidnapping Israeli soldiers, so that they can get everyone out of Israeli prisons. Well, let me tell you that Hamas and the whole of Palestine is delusional.

Everybody knows that Hamas has this unhealthy obsession of murdering people, no matter whether they are men, women or children. We all saw a recently released Palestinian woman who organised dreadful bombings and killed lots of children smile into the camera and say something along these lines: "Oh, so eight children were killed? Nice. Two more than I thought". A young, good-looking smiling woman. How sick is that. Note that she wasn't the one who blew herself up - she's not looking forward to meeting the Creator just yet (if she ever will look forward to that). Instead, she cold-mindedly organised a bombing and now she's smiling. That's the type of person who belong to Hamas - a murderer. In a normal world, a woman who is happy that she killed eight children is considered a maniac and a criminal. In a lot of states in the USA she would get a death penalty for her crimes. In Palestine, however, that's called a freedom fighter. And that's something none of them are. But let's get back to the point.

Hamas think that they won. That's not true. When Israel released these criminals, it was not a sign of weakness. It was something very few people can understand - Israel doesn't abandon its citizens, no matter what. Other countries don't give a damn about their captured soldiers, members of the press, or people working for charity organisations. Israel cares for each and every Jew in the world. And this is something that puts Israel miles ahead, no matter what other world leaders think. Hamas think that they can keep kidnapping soldiers. Well, did you know that there were more than 20 attempts to capture an Israeli soldier after Gilad was captured? No? Well, you don't know about them because they FAILED. And they will keep failing because now the whole of Israel is on guard.

So Hamas is happy that they got their terrorists back? Well, I wouldn't celebrate if I were them. Because now everybody knows these people and they will be tracked down and exterminated, just like the Munich terrorists. These people praise death and think it's fun to kill children. They even use their own children as a live shield whenever they can. This sort of behaviour can last for decades, but it can't last for ever. One day all of them will be exterminated, probably even by their own countrymen when they realise that it's not about freedom - it's about money and power.

Today, it's Israel that won and Israel will keep winning because of the different attitude towards people, different morals, different values, and because Israel loves its people.

There are a couple of troublesome points however about Shalit's return. As the article hinted, once you negotiate with terrorists you empower them. Once given this power they know they can go out and kidnap more Israelis.

The other thing is that you are telling the world that one Israeli is worth a thousand Palestinians. This gives the impression that Israelis think that Palestinian lives are almost worthless so they do not get upset about the atrocities Israelis inflict upon Palestinians while minor attacks against Israelis are blown way out of proportion.

Of course you will justify this by saying that all Palestinians are evil and terrorists and deserve it, but what of the innocent children? There were 22 times as many innocent Palestinian children killed than Israeli. http://www.ifamericaknew.org/media/nyt-r...

7 months ago: Thank you very much for reading the article and commenting on it. Unfortunately, you seem to have missed the point. When Israel freed Gilad, it wasn't sending any messages. All it did was free the young man. Freeing him wasn't about pissing someone off or showing that someone was worthless (only worthless people start thinking that about themselves anyway). It was about protecting Israel's own people - Gilad in this case. The only message here is that Israel always protects its people, no matter what it takes. As for terrorists, they will all be dealt with.

Also there is no occupation of Palestine, as there is no Palestine as a country. It's always been an artificial thing, created by the British Empire among others. Saying that Palestine should be separated is a bit like saying that North Carolina should become an independent country. The Arabs living in Palestine are all Israeli citizens and the really sick thing is that the families of terrorists who've blown themselves up are getting benefits from the Israeli government.

I don't believe that Israel was telling the world anything except that they would trade political prisoners for Shalit. I'm certain Israel didn't offer the thousand Palestinians, they just met the conditions set forth.

I'm glad someone called the Palestinian prisoners by their real name, terrorists, and didn't try to call them "freedom fighters", or some such nonsense. We were all told by President Obama and the Democrats that we would be able to just talk nice to the terrorists, and they would come around. So far that hasn't happened.

If they thought Palestinian lives were almost worthless, those 1000+ would be dead. Dead. Just like the folks they continue to blow up, murder, kill and dance over. If they feel worthless,, it's their own fault. After all when one blows themselves up and takes innocent people with them, how much self-esteem can one have?

It's hard to co-exisit with a people who don't even believe in your right to exist. It's hard to co-exist with a people who look forward to a day when Israel is exterminated and the Jews no longer exist as a people. It's hard to co-exist with a people that place zero value on their lives and the lives of those around them.

If those cats don't think Netanyahu knew what he was doing when he let them off, if/when they step out of line they will find out and wish they had stayed in prison.
