For I determined not to know ANY THING among you, EXCEPT Jesus, and Him CRUCIFIED (I Corinthians 2:2)… You want to know the QUICKEST way to LOSE FRIENDS, even in the Church? Make ALL your CONVERSATION about Jesus and Jesus ONLY!
No matter what the SUBJECT, TOPIC, or ISSUE, bring Jesus into the FOREFRONT of it and people will begin to SHUN and AVOID you. We in Christ think that everybody who knows all the Christian SLANG and MOST POPULAR scriptures really LOVE Jesus. NOT SO! Another indication that Jesus isn't the CENTER FOCUS of their life is HOW they READ the Bible, if they're even READING it. The TEACHINGS of Jesus are ANTI-WORLD, ANTI-FLESH, and ANTI-SIN.
Those who don't LOVE Jesus the way they say they do are PRO-FLESH, PRO-WORLD, and PRO-SIN. They can tell you EVERYTHING that's taught in the Old Testament about BLESSINGS and the EPISTLES about MONEY, even if they do take it OUT OF CONTEXT; but what Jesus SAID and DID isn't even a part of their KNOWLEDGE, let alone their CONVERSATION.
Another indication they aren't PRO-Jesus is the fact they aren't WITNESSING to the SINNER, they aren't spreading the Gospel so that the LOST will be SAVED, nor are they involved in ANY FORM of EVANGELISM Jesus mentions in His parable of the SHEEP and the GOATS. Let us NOT fool ourselves, or get it TWISTED in any way – ONLY those who are TRULY FOLLOWING Jesus will be the FEW who He states will make it through that "straight gate" and that "narrow way" that leads to ETERNAL LIFE with Him.
