After a season of heavy snow, we are now facing a major pot hole problem around the country. It is a major nuisance because of the damage it causes to your vehicle. This is the season of damaged tires, front ends, wheel aliments, etc.
Unfortunately, the bill is on the consumer. Many people have tried to place the blame on states and cities every year for damages. Most people are met with someone on the phone telling you to contact your car insurance company. Very few people are successful in seeking damages from their local municipalities.
The winter salting to roads can be quite harsh and this is the time of the year that asphalt is lifting and the pot holes are forming. My complaint is how long it takes many counties to get around to fixing the pot holes. They were still filling pot holes in June last year. Meantime everyone is driving and trying to avoid the pot holes at all cost. If it rains, it lessens the pot hole visibility even more. Once the water fill in the pot hole they are really hard to see at night. As much as I hate it, there is nothing anyone can do but keep avoiding the pot holes.
