Could the next great schism in the global community be between the Socialists and the Islamic faith? For decades International Communism has battled Islamic fundamentalists in Afghanistan, Chechnya, and even in China. What is becoming more and more clear due to the global economic meltdown is the very thin line between countries ruled by socialist or progressive governments and those run by communists. If the line is not blurred enough there is ample evidence that suggest the socialist and progressive countries are under immense pressure from Unions and local communists to move further to the left.
Does this blurring of the lines and clarification of ideology of the left signal the next phase in the global battle for supremacy of ideology will be between the socialists and progressives and Islamic fundamentalists. I believe this to be the case and the result will nothing short of wholesale slaughter and all out war between the most radical elements of the worlds population that being ideological socialists and theocratic Islamists.
