There are
other takes on The American Pantheon but my view of it is as follows: In the American pantheon of deities there are 12 primary seats as listed above. Each seat sit's a distinct method of worship with distinct views on attaining correctness with that particular seat. Each seat has little to do with the other seats as it pertains to worship with a few exceptions. Those exceptions are as follows.
1-6 are commonly referred to as Abrahamic because of their common views on the origin of their seats.
8,9 &12 Use similar methods often combining archaic worship symbols with modern symbolism.
7,10 &11 All deny a central deity depending instead on attaining levels of learning, realization or insights as a means to reaching correctness.
The American Pantheon in the 21st Century unlike the Greek and the Roman pantheon of old are mutually exclusive seats that otherwise do not acknowledge or respect each others authorities. Mythologies in the modern American pantheon often develop into spin off Mythologies often creating rival minor seats within the primary grouping of seats.
This can especially be witnessed among the Protestant denominations who themselves dramatically shifted away from the Catholic Church, enough so as to create a whole separate seat in the pantheon. The Pantheon's seats of eminence is usually determined by the number of converts and practitioners. This is why each seat in the pantheon finds its own unique way of gaining membership.
Gone may be the days of Gods and Humans engaged in eternal warfare but today's mythologies are still ripe with mystique, intrigue, and divisiveness. So take a step back from your own sectarian ideology and look right next door chances are you will find a fellow devotee of the modern American pantheon busily paying tribute to his respective seat in hopes, just like you, to attain correctness.
