As I am sure everyone is aware of unless you have been living under a rock, there is a new health care package being rolled out for Americans. Though it has not been labeled as such we can be sure it is the introduction of nationalized health care. The problem is how to pay for this and the mounting bill for other social services which basically cares for the millions of Americans and many undocumented persons in the U.S. I have become aware of a suggestion to expand the 35% income tax bracket on Americans who make above $350.000 annually. So as a person makes more money the tax percentage would increase. Theoretically by the time a person is making say two million dollars a year half of that or one million could be going for income taxes. This may or may not be a good plan but the idea is that once you are in that income bracket you are wealthy enough to pay more and thus help more of your fellow Americans.
I thought it might be interesting to put this into perspective and see what everyone thought of it. Now as there seems to be a move in the direction of a new world order in which all nations are united under one government and since we already have the United Nations on hand lets just say for the sake of this mental exercise that in ten or fifteen years from now the entire world becomes united under the governing body of the United Nations.
For many people this is a great day and let’s says you are one of those persons who are ecstatic that a new social order has taken hold. After a year or so in power the UN announces that in order to eliminate the poverty in all the third world nations there will be a program which taxes 35% of all the wealthy people around the world. Once again you feel this is a great idea since the "rich" people have more than they need anyway.
Two weeks later you get a letter in the mail telling you that 35% of your income will be taxed starting the following week to alleviate poverty in third world countries. You are quite surprised at this obvious mistake and you call a UN representative right away. You get a UN official on the phone and inform him that you only bring home $500.00 a week and you are far from being "rich". The UN official informs you that the taxing is being done on a "relative" scale. To people in third world countries you sir are filthy stinking rich he informs you. A week later you are surprised to find your $500.00 check has dropped to $325.00 and after some basic math you realize you and your family will be $700.00 a month less cash.
You decide something must be done so you gather your bills and go to the UN official’s office. After three hours in the lobby you get in to see him. You don't understand you tell him. You see here is my car payment and here is my house payment plus the kids will be starting school in a few weeks so we need to buy the school clothes. The official looks you in the eye and states "persons in third world countries do not have cars sir, so sell you car and buy a scooter, if a person in a third world country owns a scooter he is considered rich". And as for you children’s school clothes go he adds, buy them second hand, if a person in a third world country has a decent pair of shoes they are considered well to do.
So you sell your car and buy a scooter. You tell your daughter she will not be able to take dancing lessons. Your son’s guitar and guitar lessons are now out as well. You and your wife now shop at all the second hand stores and weekend cookouts are a thing of the past. As time goes buy you realize that when you go to work you are working to pay your taxes until almost Wednesday of every week. This means your family gets no money from your labor until the last hour of the day on Tuesday of every week. Basically you are working six days a month to feed and clothe some one else’s family. 78 days a year you labor, away from your family to pay for the health care and food and clothing of some one you will never see.
After the first year you calculate you have gave $8,400.00 to support people you will never know. But you do get a video in the mail. The UN explains how happy you must be to help your fellow world comrades. It also explains that it is not cost effective to create any type of self sufficiency for these countries so they will be permanent wards of the UN. Plus since they won't be working but will need something to occupy themselves in their new UN furnished homes, the UN has purchased T.V's, satellite systems and Xbox game systems. It does seem that the new system is working though as these now healthy persons with a new source of income are having twice as many children. The video closes with the notification that since more children mean larger checks for these UN dependants there will be an increase of taxes to 40% from your check. Finally it states "your fellow UN world citizen members and UN wards are thankful to you and are not worried about the tax increase upon you because they realize you are "rich" and it is nothing to you”.
For all those persons who feel the wealthy should care for the poor you can start today because every American is born with a silver spoon in their mouth in comparison to people in third world countries. It is very simple just start taking 35% of your income every week and give it to a third world country charity. After all you are making way more than you need in a relative manner of speaking.
