Please pass this blog on to every Conservative friend you have. Ask them to read it, take notes and then quiz them on the answers to ensure that they actually read it.
This blog is brought to you by the Letter "G" and the number 3. (This should entice your conservative friends, by giving them the impression that this blog is about Sesame Street)
I intend to address the following talking points in this short essay:
• The President of the United States has not talked to British Petroleum, CEO Tony Hayward, therefore he "does not give a damn" about the Gulf or the oil spill.
• The President of the United States "took almost two weeks" to acknowledge the oil spill and do something about it.
• The President of the United States "has not done a darn thing in 51 days" to control the oil spill in the Gulf.
• The President of the United States needs to show more aggression, more feeling, more compassion and more love for this crisis in the Gulf.
• The President of the United States looked fake when he showed more aggression, more feeling, more compassion and more love for the crisis in the Gulf.
• Sara Palin is The Litmus Test for all Conservatives who seek office in the United States.
Issue Number 1: Unbeknown to many on the political right, the President of the United States is actually an "administration". During the waning years of the Bush Administration, we heard a lot of "serve at the pleasure of the president." What does that mean? It means that certain members of the administration actually have the authority to represent the President in meetings, gatherings, press conferences and the likes. Ergo, if a representative of the administration speaks with a person, and that representative reports directly to the president, then it would probably be redundant for the president to go back to that person and say, "hey, I know you spoke to my Rear Admiral and told them that you were gonna try to cap the well…..but were you serious?"
The President does not have to actually speak with the CEO to demonstrate his sincerity to cleaning up the Gulf. And adding the "talking point" that he just doesn't care because he hasn't picked up the phone to call Hayward is plain stupid and irresponsible.
Issue Number 2: A common "talking point" now-a-days is the assertion that President Obama dragged his feet for two or three weeks on this oil issue. Have you read the White House daily reports?
http://bit.ly/aYOIA3 Issue Number 3: In the national press conference given by the President two weeks ago, he explicitly advised that all actions carried out in the Gulf (since and hence) have been under the advisement of the White House and will continue to be at the direction of the White House. Therefore, the recent cutting of the pipe, redirecting of the line and capping of the well are actions that the President is responsible for. And the fact that the recent efforts are now collecting thousands of barrels per day (yes there is tremendous room for improvement) should be celebrated and not knit-picked.
Issues 4 and 5: Have you actually watched the interview with Matt Lauer? Or have you watched the spliced snippets that have been provided to you on Fox News. Because if that is what you are referring to when you claim that President Obama is a "loose, unpresidential, urban, angry-black-man" then I can see where you might get that idea. But if you care to watch the full interview and see the lead in questions that Matt Lauer asked then check this out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtFj7I9u2...If you take the time to review the whole 12 minute interview then you will see that President Obama was being quite open and up front with his answers to the Conservative Punditry.
Issue Number 6: OMG, How did you know?!
Palin-Beck 2012? You Betcha. Those minions (Fiorina, Whitman and Haley) didn't stand a chance until Sarah "the Barracuda" got behind them.
