Taken advantage by a lawyer

"Is it the lawyer's responsibility to pay for depositions" I read where this guy was taken advantage of by a lawyer. It hurt me to read the response "This is a good question, but in all likelihood, YOU are responsible for this expense." I wanted to respond but only attorneys were allowed to answer. I have worked around attorneys for many years while installing or servicing fire or security systems. What I want to know is how we expect them to police themselves? These individuals are not gods and an ethical lawyer is an oxymoron. We are enslaved by the words they are taught to speak. I am forced to play a game in which I do not know the rules, I can pay someone who does or I can devote my life to the twisting of the words. We assign interpreters for free to illegal aliens because they do not speak our language so, what is the deal with lawyers. When it comes down to it money or their friendship of another lawyer, the verdict is not about what is right or any law. I had a hit and run on my car. Three witnessed the wreck and a policeman found the car with the markings of paint at a collision repair shop. The license was lying on the back seat so it could not be seen from the street. My car was parked. She totaled it and left without a note or even getting out of her car. In a kangaroo court in San Diego the case was decided without my or my lawyer's presence. Why? She was a minor with a rich daddy. The tactics are to piss of all of the witnesses in normal proceedings by calling it off court 15 minuets before it is scheduled. In all cases I had known of before, the judge heard both sides before giving a verdict. Unless one side decides not to show up (this is normally due to the high fees already paid to the lawyer). I showed up to all seven scheduled court dates. When the lawyer figured out that I had no witnesses he made an **** out of me stating "this must not be true, you have only your word" I lost in "child (kangaroo) court and in civil court. I failed to mention she totaled a 2 week old car and got away with it. All I received was a 65 cent check for my time. Who do you people think you are? I am enslaved by lawyers meant to protect who? This is not my only hostile encounter.

I wonder why I had to show up. In the civil case my witnesses had already lost many hours of work because of the delay tactic often used to eliminate witnesses and police officers who are not getting paid. I think I could save people millions if I exposed more of the lawyer tactics. Why can't I call my golf buddy (the judge) and say "I know it is only 15 minuets until court but, I am looking at buying the yacht for our trip this summer. Let's put them off a couple of times". Some are above the law, that's why I ask why they should judge and punish their own. We the people…let congress make their own raises, even in a rescission. Who and what were these people before they were in congress? That's right, lawyers who made it to the top. Who else gets paid up front (most of the time) and gets paid win or loose, job done or not.

What are you going to do?

Pick your self up, dust off your pants, and move on... and stay out of court.

What else can you do?

The reason I point this out is, my entire family consists on worker's comp lawyers, criminal defense attorneys, family attorneys, and prosecutors. None of them are unethical. They go to work and do their job just like everyone else. This is true for the majority of them.

Not to mention, you don't HAVE to get an attorney if you hate them so much, just represent yourself.

P.S., if it were me, i'd charge you the 1040 an hour, just for being a pain in the you know where.

Lawyers were responsible for overturning segregation in Brown v. Board of Education. They are responsible for providing legal assistance through legal aid and public defenders to thousands of Americans every day.

I am just pointing out that your experience cannot be all there is.

You could have sent them each a subpoena, where they would be required by law to appear.
