This is hilarious.

On the following website,

http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadia...

the Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams obtained advice from Canadian doctors and 1 American doctor.

The Candian doctors' recommendations to fix his heart involved drastic measures, like breaking bones.

Instead, this leading CANADIAN politician obtained alternative medical attention at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami.

The American physician used an alternative and much less drastic procedure.

The Canadian politician is quoted in the article.

"We do whatever we can to provide the best possible health care that we can in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Canadian health care system has a great reputation, but this is a very specialized piece of surgery that had to be done and I went to somebody who's doing this three or four times a day, five, six days a week."

This is hilarious.

You reckon any of the state run media, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, LSDNBC, NYT, etc. will say one word about this?

And Amabo, Pelosi and Reid are going to ram through this health care destruction act wtih 51 votes.

You liberals want the same kind of health care system as Canada while you deliberately hide the truth about their system.

Downright, flat fraud, deception and dishonesty. I don't know how you guys sleep at night.

23 months ago: It was reported heavilty in the Canadian press and it's not uncommon for Canadians to obtain health here just as it's not uncommon for Americans to seek health care in places like Mexico, India, etc., because they can't afford it otherwise. It's two sides of the coin.

I don't know about that.

Unless I'm looking for some exotic medical treatment, I'm staying put. I may be wrong, but not that I am aware.

Under any circumstances, I'll bet you the state run media will not say 1 word about this Canadian politician putting his faith in the US medical system instead of his own Canadian system.

'The Deloitte study predicts that medical tourism may cost the U.S. health-care sector $162 billion in business by 2012'
23 months ago: But, Amabo's solution will not fix anything.

2 wrongs don't make a right.
23 months ago: Thanks for the link Mark. I've now read it.

What's wrong with medical tourism?

If someone wants to go somewhere else and pay less, fine. That's competition.

23 months ago: Interesting palindrome with the backwards spelling of Obama - is that suppose to be some kind of birther's anti-Christ aspersion?
23 months ago: It's hard for me to say Obam....o...ooo....bam......

It's my way of being disrespectful too.

Amabo is no anti-christ. He's just a fool blinded by his absolute self love. That's all he is.

Hopefully the Republicans can provide some usable ideas to incorporate into a workable reform plan that they will then support. If we can all work together to save money and improve our system the Dems won't be forced to go to reconciliation, but it is clear that something needs to be done, we can't continue to have the most expensive system in the world.
Sure we have a great system if you are rich and can afford it, but we need to do something to make it affordable to the tens of millions without insurance.

Away peasants and peons go and engage the King in texted discourse. GO! http://www.rantrave.com/Rave/Im-Back-Han...
23 months ago: If something can be done like deregulating insurance companies, getting inefficient government far away where it belongs, etc., it could help.

Amabo has no intention of improving the system. Not ever. He's making a grab for control of our lives.

Nothing more.
