The latest news is all a "Twitter" about Rep. Anthony Weiner his Twitter pictures and lewd messages to women constituents. The whole of the Democratic Party seems to be in a united voice that Anthony Weiner needs to resign from Congress. This is after Anthony Weiner at first denied the photos and raunchy texts to several women and then yesterday admitted that he had sent them.
It seems that Rep. Anthony Weiner is trying hard to stem the backlash of his lewd conduct; however, apologizing to everyone from former President Bill Clinton, who officiated at Weiner's wedding last year to several of his Democratic counterparts, is not helping him or his reputation.
It should be noted that sexual scandal is not new to Congress and the way it is handled is pretty much the same for most cases. If the scenario works as it has previously, there will be huge embarrassment by the Congressman and many apologies and humble pie will be served. The Congressional party that they are associated with will try hard to disassociate themselves from the "lying deviate" while the other side of the aisle will try to use the unforgivable lewd act as a way of showing that they are the better Party.
Usually the Representative will step down from office like Democratic Rep. Eric Massa who resigned his seat last year in the midst of allegations he had sexually harassed male staffers. Massa denied the allegations but acknowledged having "tickle fights" with men in his office. If Anthony Weiner does not step down, he will probably end his career by not looking for reelection. Ultimately, the decision will be up to Weiner and his family; however, pressure from constituents will probably force him to resign.
