Scientology Event on the Santa Maria

This evening the Church of Scientology of Central Ohio, an organization subservient to the global Corporation of Scientology, had a special event on the Santa Maria. The event was held to raise funds for their new "Ideal Org" building, which Columbus residents will recognize as the old Time Werner building on Dublin Road.

The Santa Maria is a 1/3 or 1/5 scale replica of one of Columbus's ships which he used in his historic crossing of the Atlantic. It is moored in the Olentangy River in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

Having been alerted to the event by an email leaked on an anonymous website (an email which used the image of Yoda, Goerge Lucas's beloved charactor from the Star Wars saga), I was in the park to observe the event as it began.

After watching the Scientologists knock their expensive digital camera off its tripod, sending it crashing to the ground with several pieces breaking off, and then watching them harass an innocent employee of the city park (he dresses like a pirate for his job) because they thought he was a protester, I decided I had enough pictures and footage and prepared to leave.

As I walked away, I encountered Frank Dean, who is the DSA (local Office of Special Affairs representative, Scientology's intelligence and enforcement branch) on the path behind where I had been observing the event.

I wished Frank well, and extended an offer to talk to him some time, at which point he recited, from memory, my home address. I don't know if this was intended to intimidate me (it didn't), or if it was all he could think of to say, but in either case you can watch the video and come to your own conclusions.

My offer to meet and talk is sincere, however because of the history of the Corporation of Scientology, I think it is unlikely that Frank will be allowed to talk with me other than his attempts to handle myself and the anonymous protesters who have become such a visible issue for him over the past year and a half.

35 months ago: They ****ed with Yoda, I had to show up. Frank Dean is no Darth Vader, he's too cute and fuzzy to be intimidating. Doesn't stop him from trying though...

35 months ago: sorry about the **** in my last comment, I was in the Navy and sometimes that stuff just leaps out'a my old sea-bag and into a post.

Generally I try to avoid that, again, my apologies.
35 months ago: Nice of you to brag about your reputation. If Frank Dean went to the trouble of remembering your face and address, you have motivated someone to do something, huh?

35 months ago: No Terryeo, Hubbard motivated Frank Dean to do that. Now this raises a particular problem for you people. For if something were to happen to Chef Xenu, who do you think is going to get a call? I think CX just became FD's best friend.
35 months ago: Let me be sure I understand what you are saying there, Mecca Anon.

Ron Hubbard (died 1986) motivated Frank Dean. Am I with you so far?

This is 2009. 2009 minus 1986 = 23 years of motivation. Am I with you so far?

Twenty three (or more) years after Frank Dean was motivated, he remembers (or memorizes) an particular person's face and address. And that action on Frank Dean's part was caused not by Frank Dean, but by L. Ron Hubbard. Am I with you so far?

But of course, any city has many citizens. So Frank Dean has a huge task indeed. For as you know, merely memorizing a phone book is a huge job! And associating each name with a face an even bigger job! But, by golly, Frank Dean, since he is motivated by Ron Hubbard (deceased) applies himself and does all of that. Am I with you so far?

And then one day as Mr. Dean stands in the park and the subject of our discussion walks past (after his photograph), Mr. Dean repeats his name and address to him. Am I with you so far?

35 months ago: Hubbard doesn't have to be alive to influence people, he did after all leave over 3000 recorded lectures, faithfully listened to and obeyed by his followers, and many books and policy letters, faithfully read and obeyed by his followers today.

These lectures, books and policy letters influence and motivate Scientologists even today, nearly 23 years after L Ron Hubbard died alone and insane and pumped full of Vistaril.

Mecca Anon never suggested Frank Dean is memorizing addresses at random or from the phone book. Frank is doing what Frank thinks Hubbard would want him to do.

Frank is applying the Potential Trouble Source/Suppressive Person "technology" created by Hubbard and sold by the corporation of Scientology. Frank has decided I fit one of the two categories LRH described and must be "handled."

As to memorizing the phone book, lul whut? I'm not in the phone book, have not been for over a decade. Frank most likely got my address by running my license plates.

35 months ago: Terryeo; I am in awe! This is not simply a straw-man argument. It's the entire field!

Yes Hubbard motivated him, Hubbard motivates you. If you don't know what the words motivate means, wordclear it. (The rest of us call this looking it up.)

35 months ago: The Santa Maria never made it to America.
Not then and not now. Try another ploy.

35 months ago: Nobody here claimed the Santa Maria ever made it to America. All my rant said was that it made an historic voyage and a replica is now moored in Columbus, Ohio.
35 months ago: Then that leads me to another spellbinding question. How is it that you went to an anonymous rally and gathered tape of the event including your own confrontation but don't have any faces in the video? Those boots where made for walking! I suggest you think again before spewing your reversed intellect here. Duhhha stupid them. Santa Maria in America and my feet with the big burp cut out stating my address. Give us a big break. You ain't winning hearts and minds with your "bigger than they can think process".
35 months ago: From Wiki - keywords "santa maria" - "The Santa MarĂa was a small carrack, or "nao", about 70 feet long"....

Tha Santa Maria was the largest ship with a length of about 70 feet. So you do the math. 1/3 of 70 feet is what? 1/5 of 70 feet is what? I don't think either measurement would hold the frontpage news.

I'm guessing here that 23 1/3 feet long for the replica would be the on the high end using the 1/3 scale. 1/5 scale... 14 feet long... Can anyone get a real measurement and send a picture of the replica? I'm intrigued.

35 months ago: Not being an expert on Christopher Columbus, it is entirely possible I'm way off on the scale of the replica. I'd estimate it is between 25 and 30 feet long.

The album should have plenty of faces for you from that day's event.

There was no anonymous rally, there was just me and a Scientology event I learned about through an anonymous website.
