Scientology Convicted of Big $ Fraud

The conviction of the Church of Scientology for fraud in France is very worrying. The Church has been the victim of an inquisition, or a witch hunt, by the barbaric socialist French.

If the conviction were to stand, it would seriously curtail the Church's ability to carry out its business model.

The practice of the Scientology religion requires the very practices that the French courts have identified as fraud. Accordingly, it would be an act of extreme religious bigotry, bordering on genocide, to prevent the Church from carrying out its scriptural methods of gaining money from adherents.

For other Churches, perhaps, these actions might be fraud, but for Scientology they are religious practices. Just as some religions prohibit usury, and require tithes, Scientology scriptures, written by the great Humanitarian and Scientist L Ron Hubbard, rely on coercive practices that the courts call fraud.

"Religious freedom is in danger in this country," said Church Celebrity Centre spokesman Eric Roux.

The Church is facing similar fraud accusations in several countries.

What makes the conviction so appalling is that Church was doing nothing different in France from what it has always done in every country in which it has a presence.

The Church stated "We believe that no one has the right to tell the French people what to think and what to believe on matters of religion."

The secular concept of fraud has no place intruding into the business of a Church.

If Scientology cannot follow its business methods just because they are considered fraudulent, the fate of the planet, and perhaps the galaxy, will be put at risk.

In any case, Scientology offers immortality, which is a bargain at any price. The money that the Church receives is virtually worthless in comparison, and is merely required for administrative expenses.

All Scientologists are right behind the management of respected Church Leader and Humanitarian Mr David Miscavige regardless of the convictions.

France is a notoriously filthy country where people urinate in open buildings on the street called Pissoirs.

Yes, yes it would. Damn those evil frenchies for not wanting a horde of untrained folks delivering medical advice and treatments!

You sir, owe me a new keyboard!

"The Church is facing similar fraud accusations in several countries."

It is? I mean I knew that, for instance Australia was looking into issues concerning the OZ orgs use of child labour and that Amnesty International were investigating human trafficking, but I didn't realise this.

"The secular concept of fraud has no place intruding into the business of a Church."

When said church steps outside the bounds of the metaphysical into the realm of unlicensed medicine, those practices absolutely must be investigated.

"merely required for administrative expenses."

Keeping the poison dwarf in blow and hookers is a damn expensive proposition I would imagine.

"France is a notoriously filthy country where people urinate in open buildings on the street called Pissoirs."

Actually having seen those Pissoirs, I have to say they're not a bad idea, I think that the UK could certainly do with the same - as it is of a Saturday night people cease to be fussy after being on the lash for 6+ hours.

I wasn't sure about you at first, what with my limited knowledge of scientology, and all.

Now I know. Very clever.

27 months ago: Jack, your straw-man arguments and negative stereotypes of the French are just plain silly.

I can't remember... are you really Co$ or a troll?
27 months ago: So, is it a religion or a business?
27 months ago: A business. It only got the cloak of religion wrapped around it when LRON realised he'd have to start paying taxes. It also neatly got around the fact that he'd not tested, much less proven any of his medical claims.

Possibly one of his more brilliant moves if I'm honest, at least in the US. In Europe it actually made it much more difficult as people over here tend to be much more wary of religion in general (nearly 2000 years of religiously motivated warfare will do that to a people).
