A woman in Washington State who was an administrative assistant at a church has been accused of stealing almost $75,000 from the church. It is believed that she forged the pastor's signature on over 80 checks that she used to help pay for her home that she afraid of losing.
When the detective was collecting information about the theft, she claimed that "Satan had a big part in the theft." It has been a while since the news contained a good, "the devil made me do it" story.
I don't know if this woman was hoping that her claim of Satan's assistance would win her some sympathy from her church, but it isn't likely to help her with the courts. I do feel sorry for the woman for feeling that this was she had to do to save her home, whether under the power of herself or something or someone else.
