I don't care how many tattoos someone sports, or the length of their hair... I don't even care if they are crazier than me... but what I care about is if they are a fake! When someone is a wolf in sheep's clothing, scamming people in the name of God...
I don't care who they are, that is the final straw... and the gloves are off!

There are a few, and in my opinion, Tod Bentley is up there with the worst. His popularity has me baffled, like it was when the droves went after Benny Hinn... I really can't understand how people can be so duped as to follow after these false prophets. That's right false prophets! These guys hide behind the scriptures, but thank God for YouTube their every lying word is there for all to see and hear. These guys threaten God's wrath on all those who come against their ministries... well I will take my chances with God,
and I don't want to be partakers with the sin in their camp.

The Bible tells us to beware of false prophets... well who are they? How can we detect them, are they a thing of the past... or are they right under our noses. The list of false prophets is long and it would take a whole page just to expose them, let it suffice to say... in my opinion, these guys are operating on a different "word" than that of the Bible, and by a different spirit than that of Jesus Christ.

Some say that is judgmental and harsh... well I guess Jesus was a bit harsh then too. He called those Scribes and Pharisees snakes and white-washed tombstones... and I would say that is too good for the likes of them. The Bible warns that we are not to listen to false prophets... repeatedly we are warned, when will we get it?

Here is a few traits of this type of prophet...
http://www.lastdaysmystery.info/false_pr...

"Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds." Jeremiah 14:14

"Bentley claims to be visited regularly by angels, including a 20-foot-tall angel in his apartment on one occasion and on another occasion an angel that knocked him out of his body. One angel's name supposedly is Emma. Bentley also says that Jesus Himself appears to him...Hank Hanegraaff, author and host of the popular "Bible Answer Man" radio program, called Bentley "an absolute false prophet." He calls what's going on in Lakeland a "counterfeit revival." "

Enough of Bently, Benny Hinn is one of those guys that opened the door wide open for false prophesies and false prophets like himself...

SOME say that we should be tolerant and not so judgmental, but the Bible tells us to beware and warn people of those masquerading as those sent by God... what may be oblivious to some may not be to others who are falling prey to these wolves. This also gives the Truth a bad review, and sheds a poor light on the words that are to make us free... and not entrap desperate people in desperate times. It is not so easy to get out of the deception once a person has given themselves over... pride is a hard thing to let go of, admitting that one was deceived... or even taught the same message.

If you have been put off because of charlatans and fakes... don't throw Christ into that lot... He has given us His Word the Bible and preserved it, so we can tell the difference between true and false teachings. Jesus said He alone is the Way the Truth and the Life, these guys don't even preach Christ... "by their fruits (lifestyle) you shall know them!"
If you are a part of these kinds of "ministries" get as far away from them as you can...
...and those "ministries" that endorse them.

"...Jesus is

"'the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the cornerstone.'

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." Acts 4:11-12

13 months ago: I like donkeys, but Benny Hinn is a wild and arrogant braying a*s. Demanding God to curse people for him? I can't muster the amount of contempt he deserves. Its saddening that well meaning Christian people are pulled along on his train wreck of deception, funding his jet-flying, anti-Jesus scam.

"Jesus helps me trick people" is a phrase that sums up Benny Hinn for me. http://offthewire.wordpress.com/2008/03/...

As for Todd Bentley. What a tw*t. With his screaming of "Angels!", I feel he could change his screams to "Pepsi" or "fungus" or "Satan" and people would still be drawn along in his frenzy of idiocy.

Oh, and the Holy Spirit made him kick a lady in the head. Good show of personal responsibility, Todd.
13 months ago: I don't know what makes me more chapped over this Todd Bentley dude...
him saying he is a Christian or him saying that he is a Canadian, equally embarrassing.
13 months ago: A sign of a flase prophet - "They commit adultery and live a lie."

I think that is one of the most uncanny and true prophecies in the Bible.

(I like agreeing with you when I can, Truthbrary.)
13 months ago: Maybe prophecy is not the right term. But still, it's spot on.
13 months ago: Stan,

Here's the thing... it is a shame these guy's are deceivers; plain and simple they are predators and should be treated as such! If you want to look inside scams like this, here is an 'olde but a goodie'...

13 months ago: That is goodie. We look on that video as an awful thing. Some people with initials B.H. probably look on that it as informative tutorial.

13 months ago: Deuteronomy 18:21-22 gives one way to recognize a false prophet. I quote beginning with verse 17 to give the complete context (remember, text without context is pretext)
"And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?

When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."
Note that this test would necessarily preclude prophecies with fulfillment more than 10-20 years in the future since it would be impossible for the people receiving the message from God (which was the main message, predictions were just a way to establish a prophet's bona fides) to check the accuracy of the prediction.

Unfortunately, true believers disregard the fact that their favorite "prophet" fails utterly to predict anything. The men who founded/sustained the Jehovah's Wittnesses made multiple predictions of the end of the world.

13 months ago: Hi Truth, good post.

"Bentley claims to be visited regularly by angels, including a 20-foot-tall angel in his apartment.

How high are the roofs in his apartment? Or do just the legs appear downstairs, the torso upstairs and the neck and head in the attic?
13 months ago: PT,

This is just an example of the ludacris insanity that is demon-strated by these fakes.

15 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Matthew 7:15-23
13 months ago: That stuff is pretty out there. I've never even heard of Todd Bentley.

Do you look for this stuff or do you just happen accross it?
13 months ago: Huey,

I don't go looking for it... just that when we talk to many in ministry we come across it. There was a Church that we were attending that was going to call a minister from the "Toronto Blessing" experience and while we were checking his background, we found out about Todd Bentley. Plus his is a Canadian... sad to say.
