Rich Dad, Poor Dad or Scam?

There is currently a free seminar hitting most major cities in the United States, call Rich Dad, Poor Dad. The the seminar capitalizes on the fact that there are a lot more stay-at-home dads these days due to the poor economy. While it is a new twist, on an old sales pitch. At the end of the day it is only that...a sales pitch.

The "free seminars" are held at a local hotel. Right now they are even offering a free USB flash drive to all attendees. Sounds great right? Attend a free seminar and walk out will all of the tools to go out and strike it rich in real estate or the stock market.

Not quite, the seminar is a hyped up sales pitch used to entice you to purchase their 3 days seminar. They tell you that seminar is a 700-995 dollar value, but you can get it today for just 395.

That three day seminar is another sales pitch to to buy into their 3 weeks training seminar for around 9000 dollars.

Now I am not saying that their techniques and training are bogus, they are just simply not the normal result, but they want you to think it is. In reality if it was easy to get rich as they make it sound, everyone would be using it, lessening the overall size of the pie.

So keep an open mind if you decide to attend one of these conferences. Oh, and part of the pitch is to ridicule people like me who say that it is not the norm and call me a loser. While I imagine that is up for debate (depending on who you ask) it's a schmuck that doles out his hard earned money without doing his due diligence on the product he is buying.

61 months ago: I liked the first book, but it is just a pitch.
Go take some business classes and use some common sense works the same.
Their are many forums where people give away free information why pay for it?

Obviously the books are cheaper.

There was a another seminar making the rounds about 4 years ago that I went to. It was called "Get Motivated". Rudy Gulliani was a speaker, along with a bunch of other big names. In between this guy gets up and shows this awesome investment software that tracks trends, gives alerts based on some algorithm. Awesome looking software, and I totally would have bought it. The catch? You could not buy the software until you went to their training seminars that were something like 700 dollars a pop....

The lesson...buy the books, get the knowledge, you won't need fancy software to do it for you...

Also, the stock market is chaotic in a mathematical sense, it cannot be predicted with any real accuracy.

Anyone selling software they claim can help you make millions off the stock market is likely making more money selling the software than on their stock market shares.

61 months ago: Definitely a scam and waste of time. You won't learn anything at the seminar and it'll just be one big commercial. The book series is a scam too, giving no practical tips, only vague ideas that make readers buy more and more books.

PEOPLE CANT FORCE YOU TO BUY ANYTHING HOW HARD IS IT TO SAY NO?.if you dont lean anything you should learn how to sell thing to people
50 months ago: This Rich Dad Poor Dad guy is a COMPLETE IDIOT who knows NOTHING about where the Economy is heading..... this BONEHEAD made his money bringing VELCRO WALLETS back from Asia to the US... Hey Bonehead, if you are reading this, the name of your next book should be: "Hey, I am a stupid self-absorbed idiot who gave some bad advice not knowing about Harry Dent... Don't buy anything for the next few years.... I pray for your forgiveness everyday for the stress I caused you and your family by foolishly advising you to buy overpriced real estate which WONT BEGIN TO COME BACK UNTIL 2014... but p.s.: Thank you for buying my books so I could have a big stupid White Car to drive around Scottsdale Arizona..."

Rich Dad's Prophecy made predictions for 2000 - 2010 that all came true, yet people like you call him a fraud. i just came from that seminar and learn so much. please, just read the books, haven't you suffer enough because our schools fail to teach you this. this guy has devoted to helping people like you. I may not know any of you, but i do care about you and i want to help you. The worse that can come from reading is not learning anything, but if you take the time you might learn something. is that really a bad thing.
