President Obama Running for Reelection

With little fanfare and hopefulness in his heart, President Barrack Obama has asked us to join him in voting him back into office in 2012. No fresh voice of change, a divided and concerned electorate, Obama is asking that we let him finish the job he started back in 2008. The timing could not be worse with a sagging economy and millions of unemployed voters who might not see their way to letting him continue.

The small fanfare was in part because the President decided to announce his reelection bid by sending out an email to his supporters instead of making a public speech. There is an official video for the reelection kickoff that had only a very short appearance by the President in it. The rest of the video had Middle America speaking about their concerns and their faith in Obama to turn it around.

Reelection for President Obama will not be a cakewalk as it was in 2008. He owns the current economy that is adding some jobs, but still has millions in unemployment. The "Can Do" attitudes of his first election may not be enough to a country that is very tired of living on the edge for so many years.

If the President is going to be successful, he will have to sway those independent voters that sided with the Republicans this past November. He will have to show them that he can run on his record and not just on the hope he ran in 2008. Obama needs to show them that his health insurance revamping and his Wall Street whippings can continue. Obama needs to hope that his failures in immigration, bailouts, and tax reforms don't bite him in the butt in 2012.

The winner of the White House is always the one who puts forth the best appearances. Bad economy, the people throw you out. Good economy, you usually get to keep your job. If this is true, and history has shown that it is, then Obama had better hope the perception to the American people is that the economy is getting better.
