"This is the world of the fragile state -- a world that is a grim reality for an alarming percentage of the global population. A quarter of the world's human beings live in the 60 worst-ranking countries on the 2011 Failed States Index (FSI), which examines the year 2010. Here's a glimpse of their daily existence."

I love to look at postcards... but not these. I love to study faces... but not these. I love to see pictures of foreign places... but not these. I love to see pictures of children... but not these. BUT I visited every picture presented from the worlds 60 worst ranked countries... because I believe everyone must. The pictures aren't "that bad" ...because we are not there, living and breathing the tragedy. The pictures aren't "that tragic" ...because they are not of our families. However the pictures tell a story of despair and hopelessness...
a narrative that will never end for some until they die... and a tale that will go untold because it is uncomfortable and unpopular.

Someone said that this world is Hell... yet as sad as it may seem, there are also stories of incredible heroism, love, generosity and gratitude in the worst places on the planet.
IF this slide-show doesn't cause one to pray for those in the pictures...
it should cause one to pray that this reality doesn't become our own.

They were open and receptive to it. They had no hope and no light in their lives. What a difference it made just giving them a boost up and pointing them in the right direction. They are just like everyone else only it has never been given a chance. In one small year things started looking up for them. Today they are in the process of building a brand new school, a food shelter, new land parcels. It goes on and on. Once someone helps then others jump in to assist. It has been more then grand. If we can do this, so can others in our own Country help the poverty stricken areas. It is going to be up to all of us to help our World survive.

There is definitely a need for good news in impoverished countries, most of the people live so meagerly and are so very thankful.

It is a grand experience for the people in the Community who have pulled together with hope for their children to have a better life. They had a new well put in last year as they had to walk miles for fresh water. The land has been surveyed. There is a lot more that has to be done but it will be.
