Day after day on my walks, I always notice pennies on the ground. Sometimes I get somewhere between seven and eleven cents on the ground. It seems that people disregard pennies as if they were nothing. I know its just a measly "one cents", but lets not forget we are living in harsh economic times and to quote Ben Franklin: "A penny saved is a penny earned." It must piss Abe off, when people throw him on the ground. I mean this guy did preserve the Union and died for the cause. If we keep throwing money away will never get out of these terrible economic hardships. So do me favor, in honor of this country and Mr. Lincoln, just pick him up and collect him or put the one cents in your pocket. Its always feel good when you have the right amount of change to pay your expenses at the cash register.

The Gettysburg Address, as we all know, was to preserve a nation that had been conceived in liberty, and to inform the nation that everyone is created equal and that the government is from the people for the people.

If some people find that that one cent is too small a denomination to be bothered with, what does it say about our people. It says they care for nobody but themselves. If one person can find only five cents a day, do your math how much is that across the USA in one year.

That money could be donated and make a difference to some people who really need it.

Again you are using an others philosophy. As I told you in your opening post, if you have your own opinion of something I will put you on the right track. Maybe you would like TCG to answer for you as he seems to be your spokesman.
