Well isn't it ironic that now in order to muzzle the voices of the people who oppose the House Health Care Reform bill are now doing everything possible. While looking at my Facebook page a came across a posting Rep. Gene Green, he's a Democrat here in Texas, to require photo i.d. to attend his town hall meetings.
So I say to myself, "self this really isn't any thing to get worked up about." So I want on with my afternoon. No big deal. He just wants to address the people that he represents. But then I start digging, reading and thinking. There has go to be something wrong with this. Something hypocritical, turns out something "IRONIC".
The Hill.com has reported that same fact from his website. He is worried about a "coordinated effort to disrupt our town hall meetings." Green's spokeswoman also said, "we've actually had multiple constituents ask us to restrict access."
Now here is the irony, Green is a member of the same Democrat Party that fights tooth and nail against photo i.d.'s to vote. You need a photo i.d. to talk to him but not to vote for him.
Next, I'm sure you have an overwhelming number of "multiple constituents" who do not want you to vote for that monstrosity of a health care reform bill. Are you going to vote against it just as quickly as you implemented your i.d. scheme? I doubt it.
Third, let me address this so-called "coordinated effort to disrupt," your town hall meetings. There is also a "coordinated effort" by your party (the Democrats) to disrupt our elective process by trying to include illegal immigrants in our elective process. This necessitates photo i.d., not town hall meetings. So are the Democrats going to support voter photo i.d. bills? I doubt it.
How stupid do these politicians think we are. How hypocritical they have become. Alanis Morissette sung the words that politicians ring true on a daily basis: "And isn't it ironic... don't you think."
