Photo I.D. Required for Gene Green

Well isn't it ironic that now in order to muzzle the voices of the people who oppose the House Health Care Reform bill are now doing everything possible. While looking at my Facebook page a came across a posting Rep. Gene Green, he's a Democrat here in Texas, to require photo i.d. to attend his town hall meetings.

So I say to myself, "self this really isn't any thing to get worked up about." So I want on with my afternoon. No big deal. He just wants to address the people that he represents. But then I start digging, reading and thinking. There has go to be something wrong with this. Something hypocritical, turns out something "IRONIC".

The Hill.com has reported that same fact from his website. He is worried about a "coordinated effort to disrupt our town hall meetings." Green's spokeswoman also said, "we've actually had multiple constituents ask us to restrict access."

Now here is the irony, Green is a member of the same Democrat Party that fights tooth and nail against photo i.d.'s to vote. You need a photo i.d. to talk to him but not to vote for him.

Next, I'm sure you have an overwhelming number of "multiple constituents" who do not want you to vote for that monstrosity of a health care reform bill. Are you going to vote against it just as quickly as you implemented your i.d. scheme? I doubt it.

Third, let me address this so-called "coordinated effort to disrupt," your town hall meetings. There is also a "coordinated effort" by your party (the Democrats) to disrupt our elective process by trying to include illegal immigrants in our elective process. This necessitates photo i.d., not town hall meetings. So are the Democrats going to support voter photo i.d. bills? I doubt it.

How stupid do these politicians think we are. How hypocritical they have become. Alanis Morissette sung the words that politicians ring true on a daily basis: "And isn't it ironic... don't you think."

If you don't have a good answer, you're probably wrong. If you cannot face the enemy in a meeting, how can you face the temptations that come with your job? or will you just take pay-offs and such and be a yes man. Now I'm just getting carried away. Good post!
33 months ago: Green Voted NO on requiring photo ID for voting in federal elections. (Sep 2006)

This is coming from aon of the guys that are against a photo i.d. requirement to vote in an election? I'm guessing that his ace security team (union thugs) will copy all photo i.d.'s and input the information into a database (whitehouse.gov / dnc) for further review. While they review their tapes of the "meetings" they could access the database to document which parties should be classified as domestic terrorists.

Nonsense.
No constituent was muzzled during the town hall. I was there. Preventing people who do not vote in our district to take over our district's meeting with our Representative, regardless of party was welcome by many inside because we actually heard each other. You have a Representative. But because of ignorant political greed you want to go to someone else's district and bully the conversation some more? Grow up America, you're country needs you.

If there weren't so many dishonest citizens who decided to invade other districts with their petty politics, there would have been no need to check to make sure only constituents were present for the conversation.
The conflation of immigration hatred by those who wish to have the "photo ID" mandates need to understand I'm a descendant before Europeans came here without their photo IDs and I am going to continue to vote without ID because I was born right here. It is my home, my city, county, and state. I will not sit idle while you create more bureaucracies for your petty hatred of others.
Get ready to grow up America, your destiny awaits.

We don't hate immigration, we are against illegal immigration. And if you want to keep voting with out yourI.D. that's alright, just take note that if one person votes that is not legal your vote just got negated.

If you feel the need to check I.D.'s of your constituents after you are elected, it seems perfectly logical to me to check them in order to become elected.
