Our Economy is in a slump, Everyone knows this. Unemployment is High and there is a simple way to fix this. Sorry to say but disallow outsourcing by our major companies, or any companies period. If your an American and your company is American then hire Americans. Are your corporate headquarters in America? I'm sure they are and you have the benefit of living here and to have rules and laws and to be for the most part safe. Run your headquarters out Indonesia or China where you have your product manufactured. The point I'm making is if your an American company, Then Hire Americans or get out. More jobs for Americans means more money circulating in America. When Nike Pays somebody A much less cheaper wage but still a wage thats American dollars, Money made off of Americans, sent to another country to circulate. In case at the same time your depriving your fellow Americans a respectable living. Its about liberty and United we will stand strong. Your not loyal to America when you choose to turn your back on Americans.

13 months ago: It's a fine idea but we would also have to close off our country to imported goods or else we could not compete in the market place and things would probably be worse then they are now.

Want to fix the economy there is only one way. Rescind Tax Breaks for those making over 200k a year and retool the way municipalities give out tax incentives to lure new business.
13 months ago: We don't Necessarily have to Stop Importing goods, We import goods to supply the demand for goods we do not produce or produce enough of. The Idea is to have more imports then exports thought America is primarily a Consumer so At least keep jobs in america so we can keep consuming then to starve the US economy and stimulate others. It all has relevance but somethings such as Importing Wont be changed for the face that we consume more than we create
13 months ago: I know one major job to out source the prison system.
All death penalty crimes - they should sign over their american citizenship and be shipped to a 3rd world country to live out their final days. It cost far to much here (35,000-50,000 per yr) Or really carry out the death sentence.

13 months ago: Sounds nice but then we are creating a problem in third ward countries. It might be already ****ed up over there but look at this scenario. We unload a bunch of convicts to another country. are they locked up by that country? lets say they are but because of lesser security some get loose. A rapist finds his way to some hut or have you, and there are no phones much less police to call for help its really no mans land. Now a poor innocent family barely surviving as it is, gets raped tormented murdered. Or maybe we don't have them locked and we just exile them. Now we are affecting many in a very bad way. A better solution, release all NON VIOLENT Offenders that are sitting in a cage because they wanted to smoke some pot or rip a line of coc. They were only affecting themselves and causing no real harm to anyone else

13 months ago: Sure, they only affect themselves. What about destroying families from their habit in every way imaginable. Making life miserable for other people while they indulge. Who is to say who is violent and who isn't. It takes a lifetime of rehabilitation. Those acts of violence keep them in jail.
13 months ago: Violence is violence, sorry but that didn't quite make sense. Who is violent is who commits violent acts onto others. OK, users affect they're families sure, thats a domestic issue and Wasting tax dollars to lock them up doesn't help them, or their families. Addiction should be addressed by themselves. When government starts controlling what people eat or drink its no longer a free country. Lock up a major dealer of heroin or coca, fine, The people using, now you are violating civil rights. Also sure now loved ones are affected, But i'm sure the families whether have their loved one free then to be incarcerated because the their addiction. Government has No business locking up users, only dealers.
13 months ago: Also It's the other people who let another's choice make them miserable. They don't have to like a family member indulging in Drugs, but if it destroys them it's because they let it. Its wrong to lock up non violent drug users, I say users because it should not be a criminal offense to use drugs, they are only hurting themselves. It is not a direct act that will physically hurt others. Are some people emotional about it sure but It's not their choice to make and if they let it destroy their life It's sadly the family members own fault. U can try to help thats all. I could kill someone tomorrow and go to jail, my family will be sad that I am being locked up for a lifetime and never see them again except through a video screen but I did it to myself and they will live on still take vacations etc. The drug user only truly hurts themselves. Everyone Dies its all about how you perceive it. We cannot control peoples choice to consume certain products, thats wrong. It goes against freedom. My choice to smoke pot Hurts NO ONE. If I wanna do it, then let me. Why should the government lock me up for it. what does is solve other than wasting money and torturing me? see my point ??

My thoughts are much more articulated written then they are spoken. Please feel free to argue against it, thats how we open the topic up and analyze the pros, cons, and learn from each other. I would appreciate though if you would recognize that I have a Valid Point damn near forcing you to agree with me :)

13 months ago: wyemb - I don't want to preach to you that wouldn't be right. I have no right to make a judgment call. I can speak from my experiences with other people going through difficult times. I'm sure you are aware that there are many choices in life. Usually, you can get that encouragement from just one person that cares enough to see to it that you value your life. You utilize it to make you happy. I'm certain whatever you experienced emotionally with people's actions toward you are valid. Emotional harm can be just as dangerous as physically abuse and can scar a person for the rest of their lives if they don't get a grip on it. This wears off onto others around you making their lives upside down. When you are maybe 40 or 50 years old you don't want to look back and say, I wasted a grand life, and I was smart enough to make something of myself, but I didn't. You will realize that opportunity is at your finger tips. You want to say "Look at me" I can do anything. Worthy jobs are not found easily but reading and opening your mind to different concepts are to be treasured. Our Government is crazy, but it has always been this way through the years. It is nothing new. People like you can change things.
Laws are made for a reason and not to be broken. I'm not saying they are perfect, but I don't think the system has the time to do a job that people closest to you should have done. Who wants to be locked up and put away. You do have an obligation to step up to the plate and hit a homer. When you have so much life in front of you, you have so much that you can do for your Country and other causes. First, I feel it isn't about dying, it is how you live your life in between being born and dying.
Drug users don't only hurt themselves. They set an example to younger members in a family which may see this as cool. It isn't. It is an easy way out to avoid being useful. There are people on this site that have gone through hard times associated with that. They speak up, and they show change which is enlightening. Everyone is entitled to freedom, but how do you get freedom in the sense that word is to be looked at, if you are chained up by drugs. You will never know what freedom is. If being under the influence of something that dulls your senses in society can inflict harm on others, such as accidents, or driving another person to be sick from your anxiety then it is not really something I can agree with. You have to work whether it is a low paying job, but it is all about reaching for the stars in life. That is what we are meant to do. I believe in loving your child unconditionally. You see them through rough times in life, but you are there for them. It also kills a parent to see this. It alters their lives, especially if they love you. My way is that you introduce your child at an early age to the big world out there. You educate them as much as you can. You teach them things they will never learn in school among their peers. That's a start. I can't resolve your problems. The fact that it is a problem will bring you down and keep you there. Also, you know that violence has erupted from drug use. Laws are made to keep the peace and to protect its citizens. Good or bad that is how it is. Put your energy into other things and see what happens. Sunny
13 months ago: I know how hard it is to change anything even the small things (hairstyles) etc.
But it is nice to start conversations about how somethings might be looked at in a new light. As far as drug users the drug companies really want everyone on at least 3 prescriptions daily. As for the illegal drugs I say we have many empty millitary bases. It would be cheaper to keep them in a selected area.
With so many out of work retrain them as counsellors.

13 months ago: Sharon - I am well aware first hand of what drug companies do pushing medication and telling doctors how to. How do you know it is cheaper to throw them into military bases? Maybe throw the drug pushers there. Should put them on the moon, but then we would be contaminating that. They are the ones who should be punished to the full extent of the law. By the way, are you suggesting move drug users so we make more room for the criminals in our prisons? Violence is getting more apparent in our Country because of many out of work and because of the deterioration of our Cities. There are not enough police in the Cities to control the crime. I'm not disputing you I see your point, but on the other hand, it takes taining to be a counsellor. Not everyone is cut out to do it. There is screening done to see if people are qualified. It takes a lot of character. Most people don't have the time or even take the interest or care.

13 months ago: People are trying to survive, Sharon. Many have tried to start up the groups to help the unemployed and by doing so have given up a lot of time and have jeopardized themselves. What is happening is that no progress has been made with this Government. The Government doesn't show any concern for the people. People who have been leading and fighting for a cause have had to throw in the towel.

People agree with me based on the facts and in arguable points that I finely outlay and those who are narrow minded will have some weak excuse why I am wrong but will not deliver a valid point.
