Confusing story of the day: the “Obama Joker Poster.”
There are new pictures of a Shepard Fairey “Hope” parody online today – depicting a Barack Obama/Joker poster mashup extravaganza. The poster shows the president with Heath Ledger’s Batman movie makeup and sports a “socialism” label, to boot.
Tammy Bruce’s blog (who refers to the president as “B. Hussein,” "Urkel," and “IslamObama”) posted the new Obama joker poster pictures this morning.
I can’t figure Ms. Bruce out: she claims to be “an openly gay, pro-choice, gun owning, pro-death penalty, authentic feminist and a lifelong Democrat.” Woah – untangle that mess and I’ll give you a cookie.
I mean, I follow some gay bloggers, but I don’t know of any that supported McCain in the ’08 election…
It’s fun to try and source art like the Obama/Joker poster – DeviantArt, a free art-posting website has similar photo manipulations dating back to March, and Bedlam Magazine wrote about the poster in April. They claim that the original artist was “Edward Przydzial” a KISS fan, tattoo artist, and jewelry designer.
The president isn’t the only one with a Joker face makeover online – you can find ‘shops of McCain, Palin, Clinton, Alfred Hitchcock, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, and many, many more.
Is the Obama/Joker poster right on target? Is the guy a socialist?
(The YouTube video has a bunch more Obama joker poster pictures.)
