President Obama unveiled a new catchphrase while criticizing Congress at an Organizing for America meeting yesterday. He acknowledged that people in Washington get frantic in September – they get all “wee-weed up.”
Huh?
Today, the president’s flack… I mean, the White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs helped us all out by defining this new Beltway term.
“I think 'wee-weed up' is when people just get all nervous for no particular reason," Gibbs said.
Ah, of course.
After I saw the wee-weed YouTube clip to the left, I was a little confused, and since there are no subtitles, I came up with some other possible spellings and meanings for the phrase.
“We weed up” – we smoked.
“We Wii’d up” – we played Mario Party.
“Wii weed up” – we smoked and THEN we played Mario Party.
Robert Gibbs says that the term is another way of saying “wet the bed” – meaning Democratic Senators and Representatives are nervous about passing health care reform without bipartisan support.
Oh. That’s a little more serious.
