Michael Vick back in NFL

It's official. Michael Vick has been reinstated by the NFL. Vick can how play football again, after only 18 months of jail time. Vick was arrested, convicted and charged with animal cruelty for dog fighting, and now he's out already and back to playing football!? I mean, Mike Vick doesn't have a team to play for yet, but assuming someone picks him up, I can't stand to watch Vick get back on the field. I don't care if Vick is a great football player. When you cause so much harm to innocent dogs like Vick did, you do your time... more than 18 months of time, and you don't just come back to playing in the NFL like that.

Michael Vick should not be allowed back in the NFL. Not yet at least. I am still wondering which team is going to pick him up.
Do you think he should be allowed to play? Vote-->: http://www.sodahead.com/question/506569/should-michael-vick-be-able-to-play-in-the-nfl-again/

34 months ago: Excellent. Mike Vick is a great athlete who did a stupid thing and paid his dues. He's still paying dues but the worst should be over. I hope he's learned his lesson and comes back into the NFL and lights it up.
34 months ago: I think what Michael Vick is most guilty of is not completely cutting his ties with the semi criminal elements he considered friends as growing up. Michael rose above a problematic childhood however if he had done so in the manner I have seen many NFL players do which is to take the positive influence the NFL offers and become a great person and role model he would have completely cut those juvenile ties. He may very well have sacrificed his entire career for those fair weather friends and that despicable hobby (dog fighting. He certainly has not made it back to where he was yet and may never do so. I hope he has learned a valuable lesson and many other young players learn from his mistakes. I do feel he deserves another chance though and it has to be as soon as possible. An NFL players career is going to be much shorter than most and the clock is ticking down for Michael.

34 months ago: Besides the 18 months, how many millions of dollars did this conviction cost him? My guess is it is in the 10's of millions. I don't know if anyone will take him or not but I think he has paid a pretty hefty price for his crime.
34 months ago: Hey Mike, got a minute? Can we talk?

No need for an AGENT we won't talk to them anyway.

Luckily, most of the animals he mistreated so terribly have been rehabilitated and have loving homes, thanks to the people at Best Friends and contributions from myself and many others around the country.

I work at a zoo--you can imagine my thoughts as to his character. If I were to meet him, I'd spit in his face.
34 months ago: I don't disagree with you zoo. I am hoping he has did some deep "soul searching" during his incarceration. I think if he has had a change of heart he could do much good in respect to changing these type of things in urban areas. I would like to have seen him fully rise above those things and grab the opportunity he not only made for himself but was given. He really could have went back into those old neighborhoods and made an impression on the kids to stop things such as that and to strive to make a better life for themselves. Of course that did not happen but he still has a little time to try and correct that which I hope he does.
34 months ago: I can empathize with most of whay Zoolady said, but she needs to get a grip. Spitting in someones face. Classless and stupid comment.
34 months ago: It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. If anyone is "classless and stupid," it's Michael Vick.
34 months ago: Whatever. Guess that puts you on the same level as where he's come from.
34 months ago: It's pretty clear you're not an animal advocate nor do you help to rehabilitate brutally mistreated dogs. Accept a difference of opinion and get over yourself, Emily Post.
34 months ago: Wether you want to belive it or not, we're on the same side.

I commend you for your animal advocacy. Your passion and concern come across clearly. We need more people with that type of attitude and willingness to sacrifice in order to make these anim als lives better. That being said, I just think you are demeaning your cause and yourself when you stoop to that level.

That's simply my opinion.
34 months ago: I don't have a "cause" and I don't need you to point out what you consider rudeness on a site like this. I was raised to believe that pointing out something I consider to be rude was actually the ultimate in rudeness. Let this go...it's not important.
34 months ago: Personnaly I have lots of causes that I am very passionate about. Gets me up in the morning.

I just don't go around spitting in people's faces.

BTW - The name of the site is "Rant Rave", so I'm ranting. Nothing personal. Don't be so sensitive.

Have a good day.
34 months ago: zooie! Please take a deep breath. He is trying to inform you that to "spit in his face" would be assault. Please. It's not about verbal rudeness..I do it all of the time to stir the pot..You seemed to have made that statement with intent or the hope of confrontation to..we hope your better than that..
34 months ago: You're kidding, right? You're worried that I might be about to commit assault if I see Michael Vick? Piffle. I am breathing very slowly, am not angry and find this just simply ludicrous. I had no intention of stirring a pot (that's hardly my style) and I have no intention of worrying about this nonsense. The title of the board IS RANT/RAVE and I was doing just that. I didn't expect someone I don't even know (who SAYS he agrees with me) to get critical of my manners. All you need to do is ignore me. I am absolutely done with this.
34 months ago: zooie. If you go way back to the top of this screen you will notice I am very critical. I hope the guy has to scrub public toilets for the rest of his life. Please. Don't lower yourself to his level.
34 months ago: Hey Cypress,

Thanks for the input.

I'm new to this site and I've noticed your "tag" around the block. You have some pretty intersting insights.

Later.
34 months ago: BTW - I was actually holding back a little.
34 months ago: I wrote those last two notes before I saw the last comment Cypress.

I'm disaapointed. :(
34 months ago: Disappointed in me or yourself? Disappointed in the way I threw it out there? If it's me I'm OK with that if it's you own up to it. The "His level" is Vicks level. Both of you are right on this topic, you just don't see it.

34 months ago: I was just joking. I like your cut here and on other posts.
34 months ago: Anyone want a beer? The Taxpayers will pick up the bill! No questions asked.

34 months ago: Well I don't know how true it is but a friend of mine saw something on a sports channel indicating the first thing Michael Vick did after getting out was to go to a strip club with his buddies. Personally I expect more from someone that boys and young men may look to as a role model. If his second chance as a sports role model continues to go this away I will be leaning towards Cypress's idea on his next occupation.
34 months ago: If that's true, I agree. I have children and am endeavoring to bring them up the right way.

My kids, own and wear team sports shirts but no individual jersies. When I see little kids wearing Clemens and Manny baseball jersies I just cringe. What are their parents thinking about?

Oh, I get it, their not thinking at all.
