The brutal beating at a Baltimore County McDonald's was certainly a tragedy. However, unfortunately the bulk of the media attention has been given to the trans gender aspect of the incident and once again completely missed the mark. The fact that the person assaulted was trans gendered or even the racial differences, in my opinion are really irrelevant in this case. What we should be focusing on the real problem, which is the violent temperament of contemporary America—especially but not exclusively inner city youths and those on the lower economic rungs.

If someone looks at you wrong, beat them up. If someone makes you mad, kill them. That is the attitude today, that is what is wrong, and that is what we should be focusing on! Unfortunately this aspect is not as interesting as a racial conflict or a gender issues which our media loves, and consequently rarely gets the attention it deserves. Additionally the fact that there were so many bystanders and that only one made a true attempt to stop the attack testifies to the sad state of our citizenry—the days of chivalry are seem to be fading fast!

Most people today are selfish and live in their own little bubble. They don't care about others except for what they can get out of them. Holding a door, giving up a seat, saying "excuse me" are almost foreign customs.

We live in a culture where children are being raised to think that there is no such thing as right or wrong. That everything is relative and all we are is evolved pond scum that has no meaning or purpose in the universe. How is love morality going to flow from that?

According to that philosophy you are a chump if you don't grab everything you can and roll over everyone in your way to get it.

Life no longer has any sacred value so what difference does a death make? Especially the death of one that is felt to be on the lower rung of the evolutionary scale or a social outcast.

Sad world we live in today. I thank God it's not going to be this way forever.
