Major "Natural" Disasters Becoming More Frequent

It all sounds crazy when the average guy says the world is coming to an end... but when scientists say it can we doubt it? More and more scientists are saying that there is an increase in the frequency of major disasters all over the globe, and it leads one to think what is coming next?

The overall picture presented in recent years is that things are not getting better... but some are asking how much worse can it get. Some Bible scholars say they have seen this coming for years... only to be hushed by "greater minds". It does beg the question... If the Bible has been bang-on about the increase in global catastrophes, is it also right about "The Big One?" The following are some current reports...

"LONDON — A British government report says major disasters like the Japanese earthquake and tsunami or Pakistan's floods are likely to become more frequent and global governments must prepare for an uncertain future."
http://www.google.com/hostednews/canadia...

"...scientists believe that recent natural disasters were not an aberration, but "the beginnings of a new kind of future in which mega-disasters are going to be more frequent."
http://www.stalbertgazette.com/article/G...

"Earth might seem like a more active and dangerous place than ever, given the constant media reports of multiple natural disasters recently. But a broader view reveals that it's not Mother Nature who's changed, but we humans."
http://www.livescience.com/414-scientist...

...it appears that more of these types of mega-disasters can be prepared for, by relocating populated areas... but what about threats foreseen that don't originate on this planet? I am talking about the prophesies about a global collision with a meteor or rogue planet! Years back NASA started a study into this very thing, they in essence concluded that the chances were slim for such a hazard. The 2012 Mayan calendar may be off...
...but the BIBLE HAS NEVER BEEN WRONG.

"Today no known asteroid is on a collision course with the Earth, and the Spaceguard Survey does not expect to find any large asteroid that directly threatens us."
http://impact.arc.nasa.gov/intro.cfm

Are we also to conclude that there is no real concern for such a threat... it seems that many other prophesies are being fulfilled as we live and breathe. A "cashless society" was unheard of just a few years ago; a one world government and global currency was also scoffed at until recently... I suppose that a one world dictator is also impossible...
yet the stages are being set for these very things. There is also a mention that in a single hour the entire world would know events... until the TV, that was just "silly talk!"

I guess the guy with the red sandwich-board yelling "The end is near!" ..was not far off! What is to be done then? Well for one, we need to consider what is causing these doomsday events... is it merely the shifting tectonic plates... the warming of the planet...
...or is it that we are inevitably responsible to the Creator that we have spurned? As one writer insists... "We have splashed His blood back in His face!" ...if that is true, all the preparations defending against Christ's Return will have little effect.

Until we see it on the NEWS or read about it in the TIMES... we won't believe it. The biggest tragedy that FIRST awaits the Planet Earth is not a natural disaster, but one very man made. The sorriest chapter in human existence is about to be written... with the blood of the Saints! What's coming next is going to be the worst persecution of God's people yet... and the Holocaust will pale in comparison... even so, return Lord Jesus.

Jesus said: "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
Matthew 247-15

"...and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water..." Revelation 8:10

"...the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly." 2 Peter 3:7

13 months ago: In all fairness, I believe that there is nothing preventing the Return of Christ... there is not a prophesy left to be fulfilled. As to the "Great Persecution" the world is seeing the vilest onslaught of evil perpetrated against Christians ever in History. Such was true of Indonesia and all countries effected by the tsunami 2004... back then Indonesia was the worst example of persecution against Christians... and not much better today.
http://www.persecution.org/crossingthebr...

According to Persecution.com we are in the greatest persecution now, with more martyrs than ever in history.... for example...
http://www.rantrave.com/Rant/Persecution...

...we just don't see it in North America "the center of the Universe" ...but in China, India, Africa... etc. There has been an outcry for years, but it has fallen on deaf ears.
13 months ago: We are not given the day or the hour of the Return of the Messiah... as He said He would come "as a thief in the night" ...but anyone can see the end is near. Let me ask the scientist in the crowd... if out seen universe started by a big bang or creation of God, isn't an end expected? Nothing seen is permanent... if it started it must end... it is just a matter of when and how.
13 months ago: It really isn't that unreasonable though... for many, even this second is there last day in this world. SOME say we choose our destiny... I couldn't agree more, we can choose to be with God or without Him...
13 months ago: Historically speaking no single mythological or supernatural explanation for anything ever has ever been shown to be valid.

You know this is right, yeah? Lightning is not Zeus' doing. Rain is not tears. Rainbows are not contracts. Refraction didn't work differently, post flood.

Many things used to have magical explanations, that have since been replaced by reality-based understanding. It doesn't often happen the other way around.

If your fuse box burns, a person who understands how electricity works is probably going to be able to fix it for you. You can try magic or pleas to the Gods, but they won't actually fix it. Even for Benny Hinn and the Pope, and the Grand Poo Bah of Woo, learned tradespersons are more effective than magic.

You might have noticed that these scientists who analyse data don't say "We have slaughtered a chicken and the entrails show an increase in God-based activity playing around with the natural causes of things. And we checked our results with the Bible and the Koran and the Talmud, and Tarrot cards etc, etc "

No, they are making these predictions based on physical evidence. This physical evidence is based on a world view that excludes the possibility of divine intervention and the influence of Tarrot cards and prophesy.

People, based on their Biblical convictions, have predicted supernatural ends to the world all the time, for the past 1,900 years or so. Welcome to the club. So far every single one of them was, on balance, wrong. Not much to be said for their predicitive value.

Things change. If we are relying on magic, however, nothing need change. Nothing can be predicted. God can do whatever he likes. God can change his mind. God can deceive. God can work in mysterious ways.

Do you think this great persecution is a good thing? If none of the persecutors stepped up and took their roles, would the world just continue? It seems quite altruistic for the persecutors to volunteer to be damned.
13 months ago: Stan,

You said... "Rainbows are not contracts. Refraction didn't work differently, post flood"

IF you read the book... it never rained before the flood, thus no "rainbow"
...it was a perfect "greenhouse" and the plants were watered with a "mist" like dew.

AS to your... "If none of the persecutors stepped up and took their roles, would the world just continue?" ...many times God postponed the destruction of nations because of their repentance (Nineveh for one).
13 months ago: ""For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: From the north I am going to bring against Tyre Nebuchadnezzar[b] king of Babylon, king of kings, with horses and chariots, with horsemen and a great army. 8 He will ravage your settlements on the mainland with the sword; he will set up siege works against you, build a ramp up to your walls and raise his shields against you. 9 He will direct the blows of his battering rams against your walls and demolish your towers with his weapons. 10 His horses will be so many that they will cover you with dust. Your walls will tremble at the noise of the warhorses, wagons and chariots when he enters your gates as men enter a city whose walls have been broken through. 11 The hooves of his horses will trample all your streets; he will kill your people with the sword, and your strong pillars will fall to the ground. 12 They will plunder your wealth and loot your merchandise; they will break down your walls and demolish your fine houses and throw your stones, timber and rubble into the sea. 13 I will put an end to your noisy songs, and the music of your harps will be heard no more. 14 I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a place to spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt, for I the LORD have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD." Ezekiel 26

This is a great Biblical prophecy. In order for it to be fullfilled, I guess Nebuchadnezzar will have to be resurected befoe the end times. Watch out for this one, Tyre.
13 months ago: Stan,

You have the entire Old Testament to pick prophesies from... most of which you neither understand nor care about, because you think it is a fairy tale. It is pointless to get into a discussion about prophesy with a mocker. If you would like to address you questions to the particular prophesies given in this post I will do my best to answer them.
13 months ago: You are the one telling me the Bible is never wrong. No need to get all pouty when you are wrong.
13 months ago: Stan,

Let me ask you a simple question in Biblical Prophesy... who was the King of Tyre?
WITHOUT using Google.
13 months ago: OK use Google...
13 months ago: Never Nebuchadrezzar. But it had a lot of different kings.
13 months ago: I didn't use google (obviously).
13 months ago: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_kings_of_Tyre

Yeah, heaps of them.

Are you referring to Hiram?
13 months ago: Are you saying that the reason the Bible is wrong is because it lists Nebuchadrezzar as a King of Tyre?
13 months ago: No, I'm saying that the Bible is all like "This is going to happen" and it turned out like, that didn't happen.
13 months ago: Stan,

What do you mean, it did not happen... what proof do you have?
13 months ago: "I will make you a bare rock, and you will become a place to spread fishnets. You will never be rebuilt, for I the LORD have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD"

I think that when Jesus and Paul went on their own visits to Tyre, somewhat later, they found that Tyre was indeed not a bare rock.

And Tyre continued to be an important commercial centre. Some claim that it even exists today.
13 months ago: Stan I really hope you can follow this, because it is a prophesy, prophesy must interpret it, as Peter declares...

"Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." 2 Peter 1:20-21

SO, in order to discuss Tyre in the Bible, we must understand what Tyre and Nebuchadrezzar represent in the Bible... fair enough?

Here goes...

Tyre represents a literal king, but also by scripture represents Lucifer (Satan)... Isaiah 14:12-14, Ezekiel 28:11-19 ...so we are talking about the final destruction of Lucifer as well.

Check this out...

Nebuchadrezzar was a literal king in the Bible, yet he also represents someone else in the same Bible in prophesy... guess who? The King of Kings ...JESUS!
Daniel 2:36-38, 45

"This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a ROCK that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces." Daniel 2:45

Jesus is that ROCK in Daniel 2:45, by Jesus' own admission Matthew 21:33-46
13 months ago: So, you can't read this stuff literally?
13 months ago: In that case, it is never wrong.
13 months ago: Stan,

It is literal when it is designated as literal, and there is no ref for it being allegorical or figurative, like a parable. IF God speaks to a prophet as He did to Daniel and uses a King or nation to make a point... He is using the physical (what the people see) to explain the eternal (what they can't). Simply... that is how it is done... if the one reading it or trying to interpret it is having problems... just get a little help.
13 months ago: NOTICE the word "WILL" ...the prophesy in Ezekiel is for a future time...

You WILL never be rebuilt, for I the LORD have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD." Ezekiel 26

...like some of the prophesies they haven't been fulfilled yet.

13 months ago: Thank God I don't live in fear of what was. What will be will be. Why worry about it? Don't you think today is more important to deal with than yesterday. We have to put our energies into finding solutions to keep this planet turning and to make a difference. I would rather see God in todays World than yesterdays. He writes a novel every single day and puts it in front of us.

1 month ago: Does it even matter? The way everyone fights each other and hate each other, I guess God doesn't like it. I don't like the picture that is up there.
It is saying more than it is being swallowed up by natural disaster.
1 month ago: Every warning is for our benefit, and being ready to meet God and ready to love my neighbor with action and truth, is a good place to start. We can only do what we can, and obey what we have been told.... we will all go to meet our maker, it is a reminder that we shouldn't put off our responsibility to Him.

1 month ago: Well, I'm not ready to meet my maker because I have too much to do. So, he is going to have to wait for me a little bit longer.
This world is a zoo at this point. I would think God would want us to sort it out and see that good conquerws evil. It is all a testing ground.
