This is a rant that feels tremendous sympathy for the woman in Pittsburgh whose breakup book was stolen in the mail by a postal worker. This is also a rant against postal workers who are at it again.
You may have remembered some of my earlier rants about postal workers, such as Post Man Drug Man Parts 1 & 2, and of course I point you to the links to become familiar about the drug related goings on in the postal world. Today's rant is not drug related, and I haven't smelled any odors near my mailbox in quite some time. Today I rant about how sad it is that a postal worker was so hard up that she stole money out of a greeting card, and a book out of the package.
Ironically, the book she stole is titled, "It's Called a Breakup Because It's Broken." The irony exists because the theft of this book is leading to her breakup from the postal service, so I hope she at least read some of the advice before she was caught, so that she can cope effectively. The real tragedy is for the poor woman who never received her book (the book offers advice to women who have just ended relationships) and maybe was never able to heal. I suppose the woman could go out and buy the book from a store, but isn't the anonymity the point with such a delivery order. This is sad news for all of the closet online buyers of Danielle Steel novels, or other unmentionables purchased for delivery. I am by no means suggesting that the postal service is in the habit of stealing, I am sure their track record is actually pretty good, though it is a wakeup call that your breakup book you ordered may become national news, so beware!
