Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes was killed in a car accident in La Ceiba, Honduras on April 25, 2002. She was the only fatality out of 7, 9, or 10 (it’s unclear) people riding in her Mitsubishi SUV.
Lisa Lopes tried to swerve around a truck, but there was another vehicle heading towards her vehicle in the opposite lane. Lisa Lopes swerved off the road, hit two trees, and rolled her SUV, throwing four people out the windows.
She died from severe head injuries. Lisa Lopes’ funeral was held at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia. Over 30,000 fans attended.
Back in 2002, there was widespread media frenzy after Lisa Lopes death photos from her autopsy were released online.
As far as I can tell, there was only one real Lisa Lopes death photo released online and many “lisa lopes death photos” were faked. If you really, really want to see some Lisa Lopes “death photos” you can search for an hour or so online. The one Lisa Lopes death photo to the left is really only of her SUV: hardly blood and guts.
The YouTube video purports to be the last few minutes before the car crash that killed Lisa Lopes. I’m not sure if it’s real or not.
