A few weeks ago, when the top four was Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Allison Iraheta, I was sure that it was Kris' last week.
I was wrong, and very sad.
Allison was one of my favorites. I wanted her at least in the top three, if not in the finale. Probably because I'm a girl...but that's beside the fact.
The point is...I was sad about Allison leaving, and angry at Kris and his teeny-bopper fan votes who made this so! But naively, I thought that the next week he would be gone. Why? Because all of Allison's fans would see they were wrong (see proof: me) and vote for Danny and Adam. After this week's show, I thought that would be so. I didn't love Kris' songs. They were predictable. The judge's pick of 'Apologize' is such an over done song, and Kris sounded too much like the original. When he sang 'Heartless', I admit it was creative of him to sing a rap song and make it his own...but I just do not like that song. I am not a rap fan, and that song just does not seem like the song that girls should be clapping for. It's about women being heartless! Just a little weird to say you like a song about that...
Anyway: I thought that the finale would be Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert.
Then Kris' name was called.
I died. And screamed. I almost cried. Honestly! Then, when Danny was sent home, I pretty much did cry! I love Danny. He is such a sweet guy. And I know that he will go on to make a great CD (maybe gospel/Christian, which I would love to hear from him) but I wanted him in the finale!
Other than all of the above, I was surprised on Kimberly Caldwell's take on the upcoming finale, which she shared on an interview on Hollywood 411 and her show Idol Chat. She believes that all the Danny Gokey votes will go to Kris Allen, and he might win.
I'm sorry Hun - I love you, really, and your take on the things going on in the Idol world. I watch the show and it's great...but here is one Danny fan who will be voting for Adam about two hours after the show. I will NOT let Kris win. He's a great singer, but I just do not like him at the moment. I'm not the only one - most of the people I talk to are not going to be voting for Kris, after Allison and Danny were voted off.
Goodness. This has been a exciting/crazy year for Idol! New judge, top 13, bird calls - now a certainly exciting/controversial finale to boot. I will be watching Tuesday and Wednesday. If you hear a scream echo through the air on Wednesday night - Kris Allen's name was just uttered, and I died inside.
Sorry if this was harsh! I like all the contestants on American Idol - they are very talented - I just think that Kris should have gone home two weeks ago.
