We have all heard recently about the FBI raiding the Gibson Guitar factory claiming that they allegedly used illegally sourced wood. Some have actually suggested that the head of Gibson, a notable Republican, who has donated to Republican causes, may be the fuel behind the raid.
Well, today it was reported that the FBI has raided the headquarters of a solar panel manufacturer, Solyndra. What's interesting, is that President Obama felt that this business in particular, would benefit in many ways from his administrations economic policies.
Apparently, this company had accepted $535 million dollars in loans from the Federal government and now, the FBI decides to raid this California based company, one week after it laid off 1,100 workers and filed for bankruptcy.
The President and other high ranking officials have been known to visit Solyndra in the past. The company was used as a model for government investment in green technology.
Solyndra apparently failed as a company due to Chinese competition which has drove the prices of solar panels down.
Interestingly enough, Republicans have been looking into the fact that the government loaned this company such a large amount of money for months. Documents have been subpoenaed about the loan from the White House Office of Management and Budget.
First the FBI raids a guitar manufacturer, and now a solar panel manufacturer. What is really behind these raids? These raids are starting to look more and more like they are politically motivated from every angle.
Doesn't the Federal Bureau of Investigation have anything better to investigate? It seems to me that the FBI is wasting, time, energy, resources and tax payer dollars all in the name of politics. Both of these raids clearly show that the government is getting way too big for its own good.
