I know I should leave this alone. I'm not thinking clearly already, I should steer clear of more drama and scandal. Unfortunately, I find myself like Alex Layton coming across a ridiculous story that certainly isn't newsworthy, but I can't avoid it nonetheless. I should just stop here...
But I can't. The Jon and Kate drama is only growing more and more ridiculous each day, with the media doing what they do best, bleeding out tabloids and rumors. This time the rumor mill is very close to the situation, it is none other than Jon's "friend's" brother. The friend has been found out to be Deanna Hummel, and her brother Jason has the loose lips.
Jason Hummel is reporting that Jon and Deanna are indeed involved in an unfair, and that there is unwholesome behavior taking place. There is no report as to how trustworthy this Jason character is, though selling out his sister and Jon makes him look pretty bad as well, especially considering the money that probably changed hands. The media has been relentless to stir up any gossip they can, even going to a youth pastor at Jon and Kate's church to try to dig up anything they could. So far this brother has shared the most, true or not, although People magazine reported that some neighbors had spied that Jon is sleeping in a different room from his wife. This doesn't mean anything, there obviously are issues that need to be worked out and the couple could just be dealing with it. This does reveal that the neighbors are sketchy though, or that they were bought off for a good price. Maybe this is their revenge for the cameras and drama being brought into their neighborhood.
As for this Jason character, Deanna (his sister) has reported that "My brother is very shady, (h)e has no job. He has a criminal background. He was charged for drug distribution. He's on probation right now."
She also shared that his motivation might be due to the fact that Deanna is buying the home they share, and that he will be kicked out. Given his sketchy behavior as reported by Deanna, this certainly is plausible.
Again, Jon and Kate need to get cracking on working these issues out. Kate needs to put the book tours and publicity on hold, and Jon needs to start making smarter decisions. They both gave up a normal life when they agreed to do the show, even if it was "to give their children opportunities they never had when growing up." Maybe Jon and Kate, and all others who are like them should heed Red's words from "the Shawshank Redemption," somehow made to fit their situation. Red said, "They send you here for life, and that's just what they take. Part that counts, anyway." This should be in the contract for these shows, made to fit somehow.
