But to you who hear me, I say to you: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who revile you. who slap you one cheek, give also to him the other cheek, and anyone who takes your cloak, let she take your shirt also. Give to everyone who ask to you: and do not asked back to the person who took from you. and as you want that men do unto you, also do it to them. and if you love them which love you, what special grace is that? for even sinners love those who love them. for if you do good to those who do good to you, what special grace is that? even sinners do that. and if you lend something to someone, because you hope to receive something from him, what special grace is that? even sinners lend to sinners, for they may receive back as much. and you must love your enemies and do good to them and lend without expecting anything in return, then your reward will be great and you will become sons of the supreme god, because he is kind to the people who are unthankful and god kind to the bad people. and you must merciful, be same like your father is merciful."

7 months ago: Maria I found when you live a good life, and you do no harm to anyone you are blessed. When you know who you are and can go out into the world and practice goodness, you are blessed. Sometimes going to extremes can get you into hot water. The idea is not to be selfish to those who need you but to watch your back. Sometimes even putting yourself in a position where you are too giving and helpful, does more harm to another person, especially if they won't help themselves. Most people with a generous nature don't expect anything in return and are selfless. A person's character tells who they are. There are some out there that will take advantage of goodness seeing it to exploit upon. You always have to protect yourself and choose wisely. I don't think it is the average person's duty to go out and save sinners and their enemies that may turn around and put another persons life in jeopardy. I would leave that to the professionals. I find most who are your enemy are always enemies no matter what you do for them. they will come back and bite you. Sayings I like: "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." or "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." There is much more to it than just opening yourself up to harm and danger. We do what we can for those we cross paths that need us, and we try to help. Some people are incorrigibles, and you have to know the difference. There is only one God, and we don't come close to being saints in every day life and performing miracles.
