Is there a single moderator on duty?

Is there a single moderator on duty? Can you not get rid of the new spam posts in a timely manner? I have been looking at all of these "Live Stream" spam posts for the better part of the day. What takes the cake is...They seem to show up every weekend at the same time. The last three weeks. Is there a pattern? I don't know. What do your records show?

How many new posts are spam? Can anyone give me a count?

15 months ago: I recommended that instead of just deleting the posts, that the entire account be deleted. Is there a security CAPTCHA on the creation of new accounts? I know they put one on the new posts.

I think if we have a weekend moderator who can catch these posts as soon as they are put up, within a few weeks they will go away. We got hit by a DDOS on superbowl Sunday due to these jerks, and they need to be banned.

Also, if we expect to get back on GN any time soon, these hits are going to have to be managed better in the future. If the spam posts had been monitored better, we could have avoided losing our GN status.

15 months ago: For Alex, these hit and run mass spams are starting to become a frequent occurrence. I'd like to suggest that new accounts be restricted from posting for at least one week or more unless you grant a personal exception.

It's like a school yard in here with all the finger pointing and name calling and now I see some of you cyber stalking. Why would he say he was asked, if in fact he wasn't? All it would take would be for Alex Layton to deny it here in print, and Slim would be made out a liar. It's this petty BS and grudge holding that makes this site a less desirable place to visit.

Disagree with someone's ideas all you want. Argue them down into submission. Then move on and get over it. I've had serious disagreements with probably everyone on this site. But it's a discussion. It doesn't mean I have to hate that person.

Dude, to be the philanthropist type you claim you are, you are exhibiting some very controlling qualities.

That condition is.

You stop backlinking in your posts in the future and remove all current backlinks in active posts.

15 months ago: For Alex, these hit and run mass spams are continuing non-stop and just today (20 Feb), I've had to delete multiple spam posts advertising pirated PPVs from Rugby to WWE.

Deleting and blocking the profiles isn't doing the trick either; a new one is created almost minutes later. Again, I'd like to suggest that new accounts be restricted from posting for at least one week or more.
15 months ago: Need to institute a timed IP ban. Or an outright IP ban. And even then it may not be possible to stop the offensive posters. The next step is to contact their Internet providers (info listed in the IP)with an ultimatum either they fix it or you can ban their entire service.

Funny how backlinks started showing up in all of the posts by those in the know. You know. The ones the site wants to put in charge. And, they still deny it.

My offer still stands. I'll vamanos for an agreed to specific time period if you come clean. The time limit must be reasonable and you must come clean (fully). What do you want? 1 week, 1 month, 3 months? How long will it take you to get your job done? Write the contract for my review.

I'll reopen the schedule for the offer to close at 11:59:59 Pm Central on Friday 2/25/2011. The new added requirement is you give me until 11:59:59 Central on Sunday 2/25/2011 for a post.

15 months ago: I think ALL New Accounts have to be reviewed by a Moderator BEFORE it is allowed on RantRave. Is there a way to have a queue to hold such first posts for up to a week?

For the ones that are constantly spamming is there a way to report them to their Domains and get them kicked off that way?
