Last September 11,
Florida pastor Terry Jones followed through on his promise by burning the Koran after a "trial" found the book guilty of crimes against humanity, and what followed was a deadly retaliation by Muslims ...however after an
Iranian Regime burned Bibles recently and many times in the past, failed to get the same response from Christian "fundamentalists". I don't support the actions of Terry Jones, but it did prove a point about the fundamental differences in our faiths... one faith leads to life, and the other to death. One can call it political denial no longer... for the West to condemn the actions of Terry Jones, and sanction the actions of Muslims doing a similar act, reveals more than ignorance... rather it reveals intent.
Christian Church have reached out to many nations in dire need regardless of the persecution that it faces.
Today Iran's suicide rate soars, averaging 10 per day, many are men facing what seems to be a hopeless future and unbearable present. Even in the face of such opposition many Muslims find peace and purpose in Christ, at an unbelievable personal cost. Many are faced with public torture and killings... while others face the destruction of their possessions and livelihoods. Living for Jesus in a Muslim country, can mean almost certain death. It is love and a new life in Christ that compels many to share their new found freedom... if only for a short while.
Hypocritical media propaganda against Christianity only backfires in the face of the truth, as the actions of many great Christian works, help those very countries that would destroy them in a hear-beat. In our Western Nations too, we hear the media slam Christian works... that is until a major catastrophe and their help is needed. I am not saying that Christians are the only ones helping the less fortunate, however there is a blatant bias against them... an "open season" if you will... where attacks against Christianity, verbally and physically is more than tolerated, both here and abroad.
